When it comes to creepy figures in my collection, this Rathtar takes the cake! I've had this guy stashed and in the process all of his tentacles fell off. I have no clue where each of them go, hence the odd placement. At some point I may just crazy glue the arms into the ports.

Ok, so this isn't really an "action" figure but this less than inch high zombie mini-fig totally fits the monster theme post. I've had this little dude in my collection for years and I can't even remember how or where I aquired it. I'm thinking it was a gumball machine toy. Pretty dope, nonetheless!  💀💀💀🧟🧟🧟

I was never a big fan of Funko and their POP! line of mini statues, but I really liked what they did with their 4" MOTU themed and retro styled figures. This is Scarecrow from the Funko Savage World line of DC figures, which IMO, looks cooler than his original design.

Drawing inspiration from Alexis on Alexis' Treasures (Collectors Universe) and her Battlestar Galactica post, today we take a look at Hammerhead. Some of my first pop culture memories include Michael Jackson videos, E.T. and of course, Star Wars! I wasn't lucky enough to own a Hammerhead figure back then but I remember my older cousin having one. If I ever do a top ten vintage figure head sculpts post, Hammerhead will most definitely be at the top of that list 🔨 🔨 🔨

Bring on the monsters! I was never a big Thunder cats fan as a kid. I liked the show, although something about it always seemed dated to me, but the figures never appealed to me. They were big, kinda clunky and had limited articulation. It's nice, however, to have a couple on display as they were a huge part of that 80s era where cartoons and action figures thrived. Plus, who better to feature in a monsters themed toy blog post than old Slithe!

Continuing on with the monster theme, give it up for Toxy! Please excuse the wierd positioning of my E.T. fingers and focus on the greatness of this action figure 🔥 I got this as a gift a long way back from one of my favorite bloggers, John Gaither, complete and in great condition. Thanks again, buddy!

I can't think of a better time to showcase this action figure. With halloween just around the corner, it seemed appropriate to post about  Marvel Legends Icons Beast! I got this in a trade from Brothermidnight a while back . This thing is massive! Beast stands 12" tall, is super poseable and hurts like hell if you ever accidentally let it fall on your foot. The odd thing about this figure is it's ability to change color depending on what angle your looking at it from. Ok, so it doesn't actually change color, but under certain light conditions it can go from a grey to a  dark shade of blue. It's pretty trippy 😜

There are certain figures in ones collection that, for one reason or another, put a smile on your face. This figure does just that. As a kid I could only dream of ever owning an Optimus Prime action figure. Transformers were usually more expensive than GI Joe figures so I hardly had any as a kid. The mini's mostly.  I knew that when Hasbro announced they would be releasing reissues, Optimus had to be on that list and I was going to have to track one down. I'm not sure how true this one is to the original but it's close enough for me. Glad I was able to finally add it to my collection 🚛

Crazy how I never associated Swamp Thing with DC. If there was a comic run back when I was a kid I totally overlooked it. Now he's featured in most Justice League cartoon series' . My earliest memories of him were from the live action film released in the early 80s. This figure stems from the Swamp Thing cartoon which, again, I never watched much. I just really liked the different versions of Swamp Thing. Of all the figures that were released, this one was always my favorite.

My first memories of Godzilla stem back to the late 70s movies. But I also enjoyed the crap out of the 80s cartoon series. I used to have the larger Imperial Godzilla  as a kid but I'm just as happy to own this 4 inch version.

I believe alot of the guys you see today carrying assault rifles and living off the land , shacked up in the wilderness had to have been inspired by movies like Rambo and Commando. Both were bad ass and let's face it, we all wanted to be that bad ass ! Me? Hell, I have a hard time putting a worm on a fishing hook so as much as I wanted to be like John Matrix, it wasn't in the cards for me. I could only hope to  live vicariously through this action figure as a kid. Great fucking times, tho.

If there's any character in the Marvel cinematic universe that needs a reboot it has to be Wolverine.  No disrespect to Hugh Jackman as he's done a great job playing Wolverine over the years but it never sat well with me. IMO, he's just too tall for the roll. What made Wolverine so bad-ass to begin with was the fact that he was smaller than most all of his opponents. What do you guys think? To reboot or not to reboot?

You have no idea how absolutely in love I am with this Snake Eyes action figure!

With everything in disarray right now I figured I'd shell out a few action figure of the  day posts throughout the week. I'll basically be reaching into the old toy stash , pulling out random figures to feature and post about. Today's action figure is none other than Marvel Universe Apocalypse! I'll never forget my first encounter with Apocalypse in the pages of  80s X- Men and X- Force comic books. I always thought he was dope but loved his four horsemen even more. Good times!
