Big Boa In The Wild!

Image
It's nice to be able to pick off figures on ebay, as needed. I can do it from the comfort of my home over a cup of coffee while chilling on my couch. However, it's twice as nice running into that same figure in the wild. No shipping fees or wait times. Plus, you get to inspect the figure before purchasing. I was shocked to see Big Boa on the pegs at my local Walmart a few weeks back. It was cool to be able to throw something other than an Epic Heroes figure into my shopping cart. Since then I've spotted a retro carded Duke and Quick Kick.  I Hope they're still there when I go back.

Finally, some action figures in the toy aisle I can justify spending a little cash on.  Seems like more and more Classified is making its  way into my local Wal Mart and these 6 inch 40th Ann. Star Wars figures are just what the doctor ordered since I sold off all of my 3.75 inch figs a while back.

A Cup Of Strong Joe And A Strong Joe!

Image
Lots of adulting and running around coupled with crappy weather, work and vehicle maintenance  has made this month one of my more difficult ones to get through. But anybody who's ever had to deal with the day to day rigors and curveballs that life sometimes throws at us  knows that after every storm there is a calm. My respite has come in the form of a day off, a well timed package arrival and a strong cup of Bustelo Spanish coffee!  Even if you don't collect Classified, Sgt.Slaughter is a must add  for your action figure collection. I won't go in depth about it but, yes, this figure absolutely rocks!

That Sweet Spot

Image
Now that I'm all moved In to my new place, It's time to find that sweet spot for taking action figure pics. Unfortunately I have yet to find it. A couple of things. My phone screen is shit right now so I'm seriously considering picking up a camera with Bluetooth capability. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hate having to depend on my phone for pic taking. For now I'll be dusting off the old FUJI digital until I can find something better.

Where's Your Spirit?!?

Image
We'll, in my case, the clearance section! Strolling down my local Walmart's toy aisle the other day, nothing really great caught my eye. I always check the usuals, Marvel, Transformers, first. Then it's on to the MOTU section where I spend a little extra time as, out of the three, it's the line I've been enjoying the most. You would think GI Joe would be first on this list and they would be if I could ever find any related product. Most of the time I don't even bother looking for it due to scalpers eradicating any and all hopes of me finding anything with the name GI Joe on it. Good thing Spirit is an expert stealth survivalist as he was able to escape the slimy  clutches of multiple, slimy toy resellers and make his way onto the clearance shelves where I would ultimately make contact and go in for the rescue! Spirit is safe now and will be reunited with the rest of his Joe team when I finally get moved into my new place this coming Saturday👍

I Like The Chemistry

Image
I snapped this pic a couple days ago and couldn't help but be intrigued by the chemistry between Snake Eyes and Baroness on the shelf. I think they team up in the movie, not sure, haven't seen it yet. What do you guys think about a Snake Eyes Baroness spin off? Pimp Daddy Destro would go ballistic!

GI Joe Classified - Snake Supreme Cobra Commander Pt.2

Image
I've been having a hard time finding decent backgrounds for action figure pics lately but may have stumbled across a solution at my local Dollar Tree. These textured backsplash panels make for a great backdrop and could even be used as diorama castle walls.  I recommend using 4 panels when photographing 6" figures, especially for wide shots. I only used 2 and found myself having to bunch the figures together to get them all in the frame. Not a bad looking background, though.  I really like this version of Cobra Commander. The soft goods cape and staff reminded me of the 3.75" Pursuit of Cobra figure.  My Classified collection so far! Many thanks to Toy Box for the hook up! Snake Supreme Cobra Commander is an amazing figure and one that I highly recommend 🐍🐍🐍

GI Joe Classified - Snake Supreme Cobra Commander Pt.1

Snake Supreme. Sounds like a new burrito at Taco Bell. Truth be told, this action figure is way more delicious!  This was like no Cobra Commander action figure I've ever opened before. The box is one big work of art. The front of the interior box looks more like a sarcophagus and  opens up to reveal the figure inside.  Once the figure is removed you are left with a cool diorama of Cobra Commanders throne! Stay tuned for part 2 of this post featuring loose pics of the figure as well as a cool Dollar Tree find those of you who enjoy dioramas might want to check out!

GI Joe Classified - Zartan

Another Classified figure off the "want- list". Not in the mood to take many pics of the figure loose. So I just added a shot of what my collection looks like right now. It's been exhausting trying to snipe figures here and there on eBay. I'm not paying anything over 30 bucks for them, regardless of how cool the figure is. I just put a couple in my watch list and wait for the price to drop. Thanks to GI Jigsaw and Matt from Toy Box , I had a nice start off point. From there I've been able to add figures like Destro, Zartan and Snake Eyes. The hunt continues but the road is a rocky one.

GI Joe Classified - Lady Jaye

Image
Most of us all grew up watching and loving GI Joe.  And while most cartoons in the 80s were male dominated, each had their share of leading ladies. My all time favorite will always be Lady Jaye! She was one of the guys. I liked that about her character. Short hair, jumpsuit, gloves the whole 9 yards. She pulled it off without even trying. Hasbro hit it out of the park with her Classified figure. Many thanks to GI Jigsaw for the hook up!  Who would watch a Netflix original series GI Joe spinoff featuring Lady Jaye and Flint?  The collection so far.

GI Joe Classified - Flint

I picked this up on eBay about a month ago. I haven't really posted about it because it's already been showcased so many times on other blogs and sites. Just happy to finally have another Classified figure in my collection.

GI Joe Classified Baroness/C.O.I.L.

Not sure If I'll be posting on X -Mas day so Merry Christmas to everyone now, just in case 🎄⛄ I'll be wrapping up my GI Joe Classified figure posts with The Baroness! Another awesome design from Hasbro, chock-full of accessories and Cobra greatness!  Here's a comparison pic of 3.75 GI Joe Rise of Cobra movie figure next to the Classified Baroness.
