Diorama

Image
My daughter made this amazing diorama as a project in her art class. Apparently her art teacher is also into nerdy stuff, including foam board dioramas for action figures! This blows my past attempts completely out of the water, lol. Props and many thanks to my kid for hooking me up with this awesome X Mas present!

GI Joe Classified - Snake Supreme Cobra Commander Pt.2

Image
I've been having a hard time finding decent backgrounds for action figure pics lately but may have stumbled across a solution at my local Dollar Tree. These textured backsplash panels make for a great backdrop and could even be used as diorama castle walls.  I recommend using 4 panels when photographing 6" figures, especially for wide shots. I only used 2 and found myself having to bunch the figures together to get them all in the frame. Not a bad looking background, though.  I really like this version of Cobra Commander. The soft goods cape and staff reminded me of the 3.75" Pursuit of Cobra figure.  My Classified collection so far! Many thanks to Toy Box for the hook up! Snake Supreme Cobra Commander is an amazing figure and one that I highly recommend 🐍🐍🐍

DC Spin Master The Caped Crusader - Man - Bat

Image
Is it Manbat or Man-Bat? Either way, this Is a great looking action figure! Lets take a look at the packaging. Here's Man-Bat sans wings.  I guess they counted his wings as the third accessory because this time around you only get his orange claws and a blaster . Card backgrounds are relative to the mission . The first card Is the Harbor Defender mission and the second is the Sky Detective mission.  Just a couple of fun pics I took with some added help from my daughter who supplied me with some cool LED's !

Marvel Select Display Set Ups (Part 1)

Image
I don't know why I keep picking up pieces like these two Marvel Select displays.I don't have any room for them, LOL!!These last couple of days I've been brainstorming on how to display my stashed collection of contemporary 3 3/4 action figures. I've got Star Wars ,Indiana Jones,Marvel Universe ,G.I. Joe  and various DC figs with nowhere to put them.At the least, these display pieces  allow me to have some fun with them even If It's only for picture purposes.Today we'll be looking at the X-Men Danger Room! The top pic shows how It should display normally but I chose to lay It on It's side to accommodate more figures.Once I get some extra shelf space ,this Is where I'll display my X-Men figures. THE DANGER ROOM ROUGE'S UP TO HER WAIST IN RATHTAR! <<DANGER ROOM..INITIATE SABRETOOTH SEQUENCE>>                                           ...

Marvel Select Display Stands

Image
My Marvel Select display stands arrived today and I'm very pleased with the aesthetics! They are larger than I expected and should work great with my Marvel Universe figures. The door display might be kind of big for 3 3/4 figs but we'll see.I think you all know what that other display will be used as ;) Stay tuned for pics!

Rathtar's and the Many Possibilities!

Image
Now that we've looked at the Rathar's out of box and in hand, let's put them to  good use.Like I stated before,I wanted them to be generic alien creatures for my Marvel Universe ,however, Rathtar's are anything but generic. It feels like your holding a real ,live little life-form when   these guys are in hand.Lets check out some cool Rathtar/Marvel Universe figure combinations with   characters that I think make the most sense. Lets begin with the most obvious.Mole Man Is known for rolling with a crew of  monsters and alien like ,subterranean creatures. While there are a few that are unique to Mole Man ,who says you can't throw a couple of these Rathtars into the background for an added effect.I think they're a match made in ...hell? Doc Ock also makes alot of sense here.Mad scientist, science experiment involving an octopus gone wrong and suddenly Dr.Octavious has bodyguards. Silver Surfer Is an alien life-form himself,so he Is certainly no stran...
