What I'm Reading

It's been a hectic couple of weeks. Work has been non-stop, although I am grateful for every minute of it. These days I barely have the time to sit back and write up a solid post about anything really. As a stay home dad, blogging used to feel like a therapeutic distraction. Working full time has filled that void and then some. Days off are spent splitting and making time for all of my passions -  making music/ gaming/ reading/ collecting/ blogging and most importantly my daughter. Blogging hasn't been very high on the priority list. I should do something about that 🤔  Anyways,  here's what I've been skimming through these past couple of weeks.  This is actually issue #1 of an 8 issue series that Matt (Toy Box) sent me a little while back. I haven't gotten through it all but love what I've read so far. Elektra, if your out there, I'm single and have a really, really cool action figure collection 😉😉 The Infinity Gauntlet has been high on my wan...

And Now, These Messages...

Taking another break from the world of  Funko POP! , here's a line I've been contemplating getting into for a while now. I finally pulled the trigger on a couple of the two packs and I think I'll be picking up more. These little figures might have a Lego vibe to them but they are far from. They stand taller and have way more mobility. Every figure comes with their own stand, unique to their ability. Characters like Captain America, Iron Man and Daredevil can also remove their cowl/helmet to reveal their secret identity. Extra sets of hands, heads and little accessories make these figures a blast to unpack and play with. Their pose-abilty also allows for some really cool pics! The box-art is bright and even though we all pretty much know their background stories, there is a brief bio for each character on the back. Diamond Select always adds little panflips and advertisements to their product and I really like that. More toy companies should follow suit. In conclusion,  Marv...

Thor - Marvel Select

Image
I've collected, religiously, Hasbro's 3.75 Marvel Universe in the past. I loved the variety and overall availability of the figures. Today they are non existent and totally overpriced on ebay. My first instinct was to hop over to Marvel's super popular 6" Legends figures but I was already way too late to that party. Many of the figures that I wanted from that line had already been phased out and were selling for twice as much online. Plus, Legends figures shot up in price, from $20 to $25 bucks in some stores and I wasn't about to play that game. I needed to scratch that Marvel itch some way, somehow and I've finally been able to do just that with Marvel Select! You're getting so much with these figures. Awesome packiging, figure stands and some amazing, totally original sculpts! Ok, so some figures are more articulated than others. Easier  to pose and whatnot. And I get it. But for the price, you can't go wrong. I'm at a point in toy collecting whe...

Recent Pick - Up

Image
I'm so glad I was able to pick this set up.It was the last one at my local Target !Of the 300 Legends 3 3/4 figs that are out now ,these two were pretty much the only two I wanted. The Thor /Hulk set looks pretty cool ,too, but It Isn't even close to being on my want list.I'll have loose pics up either later on tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for tuning In!

Marvel Infinite Series - Beta Ray Bill

Image
Another discounted Hasbro Toy Shop pick up,Beta Ray Bill has found his way onto my Marvel Universe toy shelf.I don't care If they're released under the  Infinite or Legends 3 3/4 mantra ,to me they are all Marvel Universe.I must admit to only picking this figure up due to the low,low price tag of $3.99.  I just thought, this Is too cool of a character to pass up.Beta Ray Bill may sound like the name of a used VCR salesman to you ,but he Is far from that.In fact Beta was one of the few characters In the Marvel Universe mythos to ever give Thor a good ol' run for his money.Beta Ray Bill was even able to lift Mjolnir and use It against Thor In the midst of the heated battle.Odin catches wind of the skirmish and deems Beta worthy of his own hammer,Stormbreaker! You have to check out some of his cartoon appearances ,Planet Hulk comes to mind as one of my personal favs. Truthfully,I didn't know shit about Beta Ray Bill until I decided to actually go ahead and purchase the figur...

Marvel Titan Hero-Thor

Image
I'm kind of anxious about getting to my TMNT figs so I'm doing what I rarely ever do,two posts In one day! Here we have my favorite of the two my wifey got me for my birthday,Thor!I love the head sculpts on these guys. They remind me of  the head sculpts on PEZ dispensers. Those PEZ head sculpts are always so flawless. PEZ head sculpts kick ass.But we're not talking about PEZ head sculpts, today we're looking at another Titan Hero. These guys are so big I had to have him come off the shelf to take a pic with his arm lifted. I like the fact that they went with a soft goods cape for these guys. It's a pretty damn long one ,too. It's like they stuck an NFL challenge flag to his back. "AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!" Say what you want about them, but you can't deny their display-abilty.
