Marvel Legends Secret Wars - Iron Man

Image
Those of you who have followed my blog long enough know what the Secret Wars line of vintage figures mean to me. I'll never forget walking out of an early 80s CVS with Mattel's Secret Wars Dr. Doom in hand feeling like all was right in the world. 40 years later, Hasbro is picking up where Mattel left off, releasing their first wave of Secret Wars figures. I wasn't going to pick up any others from the line but after playing around with Iron Man, I may have to.  While not 100% percent faithful to the original, Marvel Legends SW Iron Man gets alot right. The paint, lenticular shield and gun are spot on. The added bonuses like spare hands, blast effects,  extra shield insert and roller skates are icing on the cake. I'm looking forward to picking up the rest of the wave.

Remco Mighty Crusaders - The Fox (Loose)

The one thing that stands out to me about this figure is his handle. The Fox! Off the bat I'm thinking covert, sneaky but deadly. According to the card back profile, Paul Patton is a freelance photographer who is skilled in the martial arts and is considered to be a living weapon. I love this guy already! He screams "Solo Mission!" Here he is all decked out with accessories. Luckily, the figure stood the test of time and came out in one piece. The holster was pretty stiff out of the packaging but nothing a blow dryer couldn't fix. Overall I'm very pleased. I love the costume design and color scheme. He's like a cross between Black Panther and The Phantom. Also, that yellow logo rocks!  I also love the fact that he's able to carry all of his accessories. The rifle strap fits nicely around his torso and the blaster fits snug into the oversized holster. The shield doubles as a whistle and works great. I tried it😁 And then my dog start...

Marvel Universe - Bulldozer

Image
When Brother Midnight said he had  Wrecking Crew member ,Piledriver ,for trade I was like "No doubt!" It turns out Piledriver wasn't the figure he had ,It was Bulldozer all along lol! That's all good Brother,I get them confused all the time.Funny thing Is,I used to own this figure. It came In a two pack along with the ever lovin'  Thing .I traded him away to Buzz of  Action Figure Adventures  ,and have wanted to re-acquire one since. In the end,I'm glad It turned out to be Bulldozer and not Piledriver. Here he is next to the Wrecking Crew's leader, Wrecker. All I need now are Piledriver and Thunderball. I know ,I suck at posing .Lately I just haven't felt that extra motivation to put my action figures in cool poses. Even If I did find that motivation,I'd most likely still suck at It. The Wrecking Crew played a major role In the Secret Wars series.Well, not that major but they do  appear often and  have a lot of dialogue througho...

Mattel Secret Wars - Daredevil

Image
Got this guy cheap on the bay and considering how rough these Daredevils usually look ,this one's not that bad.If you weren't aware, this particular figure's paint has been known to run, some call it bleeding because of the color. You can't tell from the pic but mine has lighter shaded arms and legs that faded over time.Do not ,i repeat do not try to take a wet rag to your Secret Wars Daredevil figure .It will actually begin to rub off.I find it strange that this is ,presumably, the only figure in the line that does this.On the positive side,he still has the majority of his DD emblem. Here is my collection as it stands now.

2009 Marvel Universe - Captain America (Secret Wars)

Image
I regret  passing on all the earlier waves of Marvel Universe figures.Who would have known that most would shoot up In price and be nearly impossible to reattain.Until now,my go to classic Cap was  Heavy Artillery Captain America from the movie line of figures. He did a great job of filling In until I could finally get my hands on what I feel Is the best Captain America figure out there, to date.Unbeknownst to me at the time of purchase, this was not the shield that came  with this figure originally. Not a problem at all because this shield with the straps  Is  sooo much better than the clip on ones. It took nearly 8 years for this figure to start coming down In price ,hence the reason I was able to finally snag one up. As you can see ,Secret Wars Cap stands taller than Heavy Artillery and the Super Combat Movie Versions.  I also dig the similarities this figure has with the original 1980's Secret Wars Captain America. The lighter shade of blue ...

Marvel Universe - Klaw

Image
Once again ,Marvel Universe has the honor of  receiving another post here on 2 Minute Toy Break.Recently, there has been a price droppage on most everything Marvel Universe and I've been taking advantage of It.Seems like I've been chasing after these Secret Wars figures for ever.I was too busy chasing down G.I. Joe at the time of their release, foolishly believing that they'd be re- released at some point. My goal was and still Is to gather up as many figures from the series as possible. Klaw comes In a two pack with Captain America ,the first two pack  of  many  that subsequently  released commemorating the original run  of  the Secret Wars comics. He doesn't make an appearance In the Secret Wars  series until the later issues.

Package # 2

Marvel Secret Wars Wolverine. This one has been on my want list forever!Just recently the prices have started to drop on this figure and I was lucky enough to snag one up  for 6 bucks and some change shipped. Not too bad considering the shape he's In. The only rubbing I see are around his belt area and he's missing his claws.Other than that ,the cowl Is a solid black and so Is everything else pretty much. It's scary sometimes, picking stuff up on ebay ,cuz even though you can see the sellers item pics, you still don't really know. One thing you can't see In pics is the condition of the joints and  If they are tight or loose.I got lucky with this one.Another want list figure off the checklist- phew! The mask Is a solid black. The camera flash makes It look like the paint is rubbed on the nose and mask area. My Secret Wars collection so far.

House of Wax!

Image
"The local Wax Museum is having a fire sale and you have the opportunity to add a life-size, life-like action figure to your collection. Who do you choose?" Dees ees tuff!Damn,so many to choose from.I don't want an actual wax representation of a person, instead It would be a wax action figure,If that's possible. It's going to be between these two... I loved the fact that I was able to add a Titan sized Hulk to my collection,so a life sized replica of this figure would be amazing!Damn <swaying my head from side to side>,just thinking about it... Or.. This guy right here!I've seen the mini Secret Wars bobble heads at Walgreens and the jumbo sized ones online, but a life size Secret Wars figure w/ shield would be epic! All right ,let's flip one of my lucky 80's  coins,1982 to be exact.Heads Hulk, tails Captain America... And the winner Is  Secret Wars Captain America ! There are a plethora of Pop Culture...
