Mattel Buzz Lightyear XL 01

These figures rock so much! Here we have Buzz Lightyear XL 01. Again, I haven't seen the film yet so I'm not quite sure what  " XL 01" stands for. After watching a couple of trailers I'm guessing this is Buzz in his space suit prior to becoming Space Ranger Alpha.

Dang! I'm really digging this Buzz Lightyear figure! Mattel did a great job on these, giving them a nice amount of articulation and nice paint apps, too. Also, you can't beat the $10 price tag. I haven't seen the film yet but this is obviously a "Buzz in his civis" action figure. "SOX" , apparently Buzz's pet cat, also has nice articulation. These shouldn't be hard to find in the wild and  I highly recommend going out and picking some up. This was a quick but fun shoot! Enjoy the pics👍

GiJigsaw Original Artwork

If you haven't been over to  GIJigsaw's  site to check out his awesome custom action figure artwork, I suggest you do so. Recently Jigs put the word out and gave readers of his site the chance to pick out 4 characters from any action figure line to be immortalized on canvas and I chose a few Mattel Marvel Secret Wars classics!  Jigs even added the lightning bolt to the deep blue background, staying true to the vintage card art!  The colors used match the figures perfectly! Even Dr. Doom got the metallic silver treatment. Black suit Spidey!!! I'm really digging these and appreciate the "First Four" freebie deal! Jigs completely knocked it out of the park and It's cool to know that I have the first series of Mattel Marvel Secret Wars figure paintings! Many thanks Jigs💥 This was truly a thoughtful and kind gesture on your part and I will forever be indebted 🙏

Mattel MOTU Origins - Skeletor

Image
As much as I liked the He-Man figure In this line, I think I like Skeletor even more! Also, I think I'm falling hook, line and sinker for these awesome action figures! Let's take a look at Skeletor. Again, the packaging  pays tribute to the vintage line nicely. If you were a kid In the 80's then you know that MOTU, GI Joe and Transformers was life. We didn't even need the whole collection. If we had just  a few figures from each of those lines then all was right in the world. I think we have a lot to be thankful for  as adult collectors. All three of the aforementioned lines have done a great job on all of their retro releases, allowing us to relive that all too important golden age of action figures.        I won't be going over the comic book because It was the same as the one that came with He-Man. I think that has been my only disappointment so far. I could be wrong but I thought the vintage line had  unique comic books for each figure. ...

Mattel MOTU Origins - He- Man

Image
" Awesome packaging, iconic action figure with accessories and a mini comic book to go with an incredible nostalgia rush. Totally worth the $13 dollar price tag!" I recently posted about a couple of figures I picked up at my local Target. MOTU Origins He-Man and Skeletor. To be honest, Classified was on the brain but of course those were nowhere in sight, so MOTU won out. I mean, how hard is It to win a competition when the other guy doesn't even show up? There must have been close to 30 MOTU Origins  figures  on the pegs and It felt great to have a variety of figures to choose from. Hopefully It stays that way as I see myself picking up more In the future. Lets take a look at He-Man! The packaging really takes me back! I think I've said It before, He-Man was the first real mainstream action figure I had as a kid. That same X-Mas my parents bought me a bunch of DC Lost World of the Warlord figures thinking they were MOTU, lol! It's all good ,tho, cuz I loved tho...
