2 MINUTE TOY BREAK !

I'm kind of anxious about getting to my TMNT figs so I'm doing what I rarely ever do,two posts In one day!Here we have my favorite of the two my wifey got me for my birthday,Thor!I love the head sculpts on these guys.They remind me of  the head sculpts on PEZ dispensers.Those PEZ head sculpts are always so flawless. PEZ head sculpts kick ass.But we're not talking about PEZ head sculpts,today we're looking at another Titan Hero. These guys are so big I had to have him come off the shelf to take a pic with his arm lifted. I like the fact that they went with a soft goods cape for these guys.It's a pretty damn long one ,too.It's like they stuck an NFL challenge flag to his back. "AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!" Say what you want about them,but you can't deny their display-abilty.

When I see the words "Titan Heroes" ,I tend to sing them In a deep ,chorus like voice ,pretending to sing their non- existent commercial theme song .The Titan Hero series reminds me of   Pocket Heroes ,only overgrown.It's a simple representation of all of our favorite Marvel characters on a large scale.They're big and bright brawn's with minimal articulation made to be played with by the kids or displayed by us adult collectors. Check out the over sized shield! You can attach It to his left arm or peg it into his back for easy storage. Hasbro goofed up on the head sculpt by omitting the wings on Cap's cowl.It's no deal breaker but odd nonetheless.  

When I saw Sandman hanging on the pegs at my local Wal - Mart going for a mere $8.98,I wasn't about to pass him up.He seemed to be one of the more expensive figures online and I knew If I didn't pick him up now,at retail price,then I would probably miss out on him.I didn't expect much from the figure ,as we all know Titan Heroes have limited articulation.So man, was I surprised   to find out that Sandman actually had hinged arms and legs ,allowing for outward extension as well as the normal back and forth articulation.I would have been pleased with the usual Titan Heroes sculpt and articulation so this was a pleasant surprise.You don't see many reviews or vids on these guys because , frankly,they're not popular. It was bugging the crap out of me that this amazing Titan Hero Falcon figure Derek sent over was In my toy stash dinged up.He had warned me about the small nicks It had on his chest and I told him I'd try to fix them myself.So much for that because I failed miserably.Well,over the weekend I must have channeled Hobby's repro man ,Rey, and touched up my saddy Falcon figure with some white nail polish ,and It came out half way decent.I couldn't stand seeing him In my drawer anymore,Falcon needed to fly!

I can remember seeing these on toy shelves when they first came out and totally dogging them.Seeing them inside of those funny looking long boxes didn't help things either.I thought ,well maybe just another gimmick for the kids ,but definitely not for the adult toy collector.The first few waves did nothing for me,and I thought the line would never  gain any momentum.Then I began seeing online pics of upcoming waves featuring guys like Green Goblin,Black Suit Spider-Man and Falcon.Not only that but some came with accessories and vehicles as well !Then I received a Titan Hulk for X-Mas and loved the way It looked on display,and instantly wanted more for the toy shelf.Derek (Orniphus) of Coolandunusual  ,must have picked up on that and sent me an e-mail stating that he had a slightly banged up Falcon and Iron Man Titan figure,and If I had any use for them.I knew that I would eventually add some more Titans to my collection but I never thought they'd come by way of a gift from ano...
