I thought I'd be able to find Man at Arms too but he wasn't there. Orko was the figure I really wanted so I'm glad they a had a couple left.

MOTU Masterverse Revelation Skeletor

Image
It kind of bugs me when people knock new brands of figures for not looking like brands before it. I saw a listing for a custom Masterverse Skeletor figure. It had the Masterverse body with an old school Skeletor head sculpt. I don't get it. If you like the old school Skeletor that much then buy an old school Skeletor. This is a completely different universe of MOTU. The figures look different for a reason. They're spot on with the series they're based off of and that's all that matters to me, really. I'll only post the one pic of  Masterverse Skeletor loose because by now I'm pretty sure you've all seen it before .  Action Figure Barbecue has been doing a great job reviewing them.

MOTU Masterverse Revelation He-Man

Image
I remember owning a few MOTU 200X figures years back. I really liked them but ended up trading them away. Since then I've always thought about reacquiring some of them but most are overpriced and incomplete. I guess that's why I find myself kind of crushing on these Masterverse figures. They remind me of the 200X line. In fact, I think  they're better looking than the 200X line. I saw some of the Netflix series, lost interest but then picked up where I left off just recently. Mostly because I wanted to compare the figures to their cartoon counterpart. It's not horrible, although, I hate Orkos voice. As long as I keep picking up figures from the line I will continue to watch episodes as they are released. That is, If it hasn't been cancelled. I know alot of MOTU purists didn't take to well to the first season. Oh well. I am really digging the figures.  The artwork on the back differs from the one on the side of the box.  Upon o...

Mattel MOTU Origins - He- Man

Image
" Awesome packaging, iconic action figure with accessories and a mini comic book to go with an incredible nostalgia rush. Totally worth the $13 dollar price tag!" I recently posted about a couple of figures I picked up at my local Target. MOTU Origins He-Man and Skeletor. To be honest, Classified was on the brain but of course those were nowhere in sight, so MOTU won out. I mean, how hard is It to win a competition when the other guy doesn't even show up? There must have been close to 30 MOTU Origins  figures  on the pegs and It felt great to have a variety of figures to choose from. Hopefully It stays that way as I see myself picking up more In the future. Lets take a look at He-Man! The packaging really takes me back! I think I've said It before, He-Man was the first real mainstream action figure I had as a kid. That same X-Mas my parents bought me a bunch of DC Lost World of the Warlord figures thinking they were MOTU, lol! It's all good ,tho, cuz I loved tho...

Funko Primal Age Scarecrow

Image
It's been a hot minute since I've picked up any new action figures but at a mere 5 bucks and some change shipped , I couldn't pass up this Funko DC Primal Age Scarecrow figure. Man , holding this thing gave me flashbacks of  old Remco Lost World of the Warlord figures. Everything from the packaging , the weight of it and even  the smell of plastic chemicals that comes oozing out of the clamshell after opening. I realize that I am quite late to the Primal Age party. By the time I got tired of holding out for new 3 3/4 figures , Funko had inundated the market with a barrage of  5.5 MOTU styled action figures . I held out on those ,too , until the other day. I already knew what to expect as I had already picked up a Zorn figure which Is pretty much the same deal.      The great thing about this figure Is that It doesn't have to be Scarecrow. Funko gave some of these figures such a unique look that they could literally drop int...

Trade Package From Brother Midnight!

Image
These last couple of days have been sweltering to say the least.I hate to complain about the heat  because In the winter time,I'm the first one to curse the cold weather and pray for  summer to finally kick in.Well, not only has summer kicked In,but It's also punching, scratching ,biting and beating everybody's ass up here In the north east. Also, it seems my grass is refusing to grow and even If It did ,I'm really not in the mood to do any kind of landscaping, whatsoever. I refuse to go outside.Besides,Brother Midnight,co creator of the awesomest action figure forum In town,     Toy Disorderly   and author of   Green Plastic Squirt Gun  has sent me an amazing trade package packed with retro goodness, and so It looks like I'll be a recluse these next couple of days .Brother Midnight has become a regular trade partner over the years and I couldn't appreciate him more. He's helped me fill out my retro toy shelves on more than one occasion,If not by  ...

MOTU Vintage Rokkon

Image
From what I've gathered online,Rokkon wasn't released until 1986.That would explain the connection I have with this figure. At that time ,I was a full blown action figure fanatic ,and while It was mainly Joes I gobbled up,Rokkon was prevalent In many of my friends collections.I wasn't a big He-Man collector, but figures like this, with cool gimmicks, always grabbed my attention. The greatest thing about Rokkon Is the connection he has  with one of my all time favorite years,1986.Lots of crazy shit happened that year. The unfortunate space shuttle Challenger incident,Mike Tyson becoming the youngest heavyweight champion and the release of a MOTU figure that morphs into a rock and back again. "Which way did he go!"
