Wonder Man Comic Lot!

Image
I recently received my package containing 17  issues of  Wonder Man 1991 -94!This was a series I wanted to get into as a kid but only managed to  pick up the two titles you see below.I don't know what happened.I must have lost interest.I do remember really loving the character.Wonder Man came off as being kind of  aloof  and arrogant In the comics,some-timing as a Hollywood actor. He was kind of a lone wolf and that was something I gravitated towards when It came to comic book heroes and villains that appealed to me.I can't wait to read through these again and give you guys a little more insight into one of Marvels', IMO,most underrated heroes. Re-Collecting My Childhood Comics!

In the 80's ,X-Men Classic,or Classic X-Men ,whichever one you prefer, were a great series of comic books. As a kid I had a few stragglers ,you know ,late issues In my collection but I could never find that elusive number 1.So when Jim Lee dropped X-Men #1, In 1991 , I was all In.I was finally going to be  able to follow an X-Men story arc from the very beginning!Ya see, comic books was our Netflix.Only we had to wait a full month before we could get our hands on the next episode. And even after that month long wait,It wasn't a sure thing that your local comic shop would have any In stock.Still, there was nothing more exhilarating than walking into a  shop and finding that new release!Right away, X- Men became life.I had other comics In my collection.West Coast Avengers,Captain America,Spider-Man but nothing ever came close to my collection of  Jim Lee X-Men comic books.Today,I am one step closer to obtaining all of the Jim Lee X-Men comics I had as a kid. There's lots more to...

Spider-Man,Spider-Man!

Image
Since the 70's ,every decade has seen   a  Spider-Man action figure release. Mego and Remco  got the ball rolling with Pocket Heroes and Energized Spidey. Mattel  would then pick up the torch In 1984 with the Secret Wars line ,giving us both a red and black suit Spider-Man figure. While most  collectors who grew up In the 70's would point to their beloved Mego Spider-Man as their definitive version ,I would have to say Mattel nailed It. Nothing fancy.Just a solid 3 3/4 action figure with no gimmicks or features to get in the way of the sculpt. The web shooting and thwipp effects would come  solely from our imaginations. Things were looking up for action figure Spidey and every few years or so   ,a new, more efficient version would be released.I ,for one, couldn't wait to see what the 90's would have In store.I mean, with technology booming, cartoons premiering ,It was definitely time for "THE" Spider-Man action figure to be unveiled. And th...

Desert Dogs Sound Fx.

Image
As a kid,did you ever find yourself in need of a quick action figure fix?Maybe you were on vacation with your parents when you realize that your new surroundings would make for some interesting action figure episodes.Or was It that  long car ride when the boredom got so out of hand that   rest areas were designated ,not for peeing, but for action figure hunting? You would never be so lucky as to find anything you were truly interested in,either.Never a Joe in sight or a MOTU figure within reach.  Just something passable enough to get you through your toy withdrawals, like this Desert Dogs sound fx generic military action figure. Now before you go calling this guy  Mel Appel ,understand that this is just the name of the company that makes these figures. In fact ,these guys are all nameless.A blank slate. But that was the cool part !They could be anybody you wanted them to be!     These guys also came with an arsenal and a cool sound effects feature!Sa...
