it's Been A Long Week!

Image
This month has been an eventful one. My daughter was with me this week as my birthday was on the 20th and with restrictions starting to ease up, we had a small gathering at my parents. My dad's birthday was a couple of days before mine so we celebrated it together and my older brother came up from Florida ,unbeknownst to anyone, to join in the hectic month that has been May.  The weather has been pretty amazing and my daughter and I were finally able to get in a few soft toss sessions in the front yard. As far as toy pick ups, I managed to snag up this Peter Venkman Ghostbusters reissue from Walmart. A little overpriced if you ask me at 15 bucks a pop. Not sure how much longer these will be around. Hopefully long enough for me to be able to complete the team. This guy will go on my vintage display, even though it's a reissue.

Action Figure Of The Day

Crazy how I never associated Swamp Thing with DC. If there was a comic run back when I was a kid I totally overlooked it. Now he's featured in most Justice League cartoon series' . My earliest memories of him were from the live action film released in the early 80s. This figure stems from the Swamp Thing cartoon which, again, I never watched much. I just really liked the different versions of Swamp Thing. Of all the figures that were released, this one was always my favorite.

2020 Goals

2020 Is upon us and with It a slew of resolutions. What are mine you ask? Oh ,you didn't ask. Well I'll tell anyways . I don't have many 2020 goals ,toy related, anyways. One part of my collection that I've always wanted to work on was vintage Star Wars. I'll be trying to pick up more of the figures I had as kid and even that wasn't much but let's see how It goes. The handful of vintage Star Wars figures that I own now aren't really ones of my choice but rather odd ball stuff sent to me from past trades. 2020's newest addition Is none other than the fabulous Hammerhead! Hard to believe this figure came out In 1978!

My New Obsession!

Before I start gushing over childhood Kenner Starting Lineup memories, give this video  a click. Is It not the most 80's sounding thing ever!?!This could have easily been a G.I. Joe theme song. Isn't It great! In fact ,all of their commercials were pretty damn epic. And now,on to the post... Kenner 1988 Starting Lineup MOC /1990 Bo Jackson Loose The first line of Kenner Starting Lineups came out In 1988.At that time,I was still into G.I. Joe but transitioning into baseball fandom.Baseball was kind of Ideal for me as I was able to watch real, live heroes play out in front of me on my television screen. Each with their own super power! Jose Canseco(my favorite player at the time)  could hit a baseball a country mile. Bo Jackson had a cannon for an arm and guys like Dwight Gooden and Nolan Ryan were masters of deception, every time they went out on the mound and racked up strikeouts.I was already into action figures so In my world ,the stars had definitely aligne...

Trade Package From Brother Midnight!

These last couple of days have been sweltering to say the least.I hate to complain about the heat  because In the winter time,I'm the first one to curse the cold weather and pray for  summer to finally kick in.Well, not only has summer kicked In,but It's also punching, scratching ,biting and beating everybody's ass up here In the north east. Also, it seems my grass is refusing to grow and even If It did ,I'm really not in the mood to do any kind of landscaping, whatsoever. I refuse to go outside.Besides,Brother Midnight,co creator of the awesomest action figure forum In town,     Toy Disorderly   and author of   Green Plastic Squirt Gun  has sent me an amazing trade package packed with retro goodness, and so It looks like I'll be a recluse these next couple of days .Brother Midnight has become a regular trade partner over the years and I couldn't appreciate him more. He's helped me fill out my retro toy shelves on more than one occasion,If not by  ...
