Ain't No Party Like A Darth Vader Party

Image
No, it's not Darth Vader's birthday. This isn't a Star Wars anniversary post. It's not even a special occasion. This is  just me coming to the realization that I have a thing for Darth Vader. Darth Vader action figures, that is. Everytime I see one in the wild I'm compelled to insert said figure into my shopping cart. Because of this, I now have a small collection of Darth Vader figures.

Luke Skywalker/ Storm Trooper - Star Wars (Epic Heroes)

Image
Here's a closer look at my recent Pick ups out of the packaging. I like head sculpt on the Skywalker figure. It's clean and the overall figure is solid. The Storm Trooper is pretty great, too. The one thing I'm noticing are the holes on the arms of the Storm Trooper.  Darth Vader has them as well. I'm wondering if they'll be releasing a weapons pack or a deluxe figure set with additional accessories that plug into the arms. It's a possibility.  Either way, the holes don't bug me much. The last Pic is for comparison. Pictured with the Epic Heroes figures are vintage  Kenner Lando and Leia.

Recent Pick Ups!

I was happy to see Luke Skywalker and  Storm Trooper Epic Heroes figures on the pegs today at the local ( loco) Walmart. I picked up Darth Vader a while back and really liked the quality and sculpt of the figure. This is one of those " fun to collect" lines. Cheap, always available and small enough to grab and  toss in the cart while doing your grocery shopping. Looking forward to more from the line.

Darth Vader - Star Wars (Epic Heroes)

Image
The evergreen 4" Epic Heroe Series has branched out and is now offering select Star Wars action figures. I haven't seen many on the pegs but managed to find the baddest black man in outer space,  Darth Vader! With this EHS line your getting a kid friendly action figure with limited articulation and 1 to 2 accessories. Pretty much a glamourized happy meal toy.

Toy Haul!

Just a few things to keep me occupied this long, labor day weekend. I haven't really recovered from the big sell-off of most of my 3.75 Star Wars figures. These 6" figures should help me rebound nicely!  Stay tuned for loose pics!

Action Figure Of The Day

Image
When it comes to creepy figures in my collection, this Rathtar takes the cake! I've had this guy stashed and in the process all of his tentacles fell off. I have no clue where each of them go, hence the odd placement. At some point I may just crazy glue the arms into the ports.

Action Figure Of The Day

Drawing inspiration from Alexis on Alexis' Treasures (Collectors Universe) and her Battlestar Galactica post, today we take a look at Hammerhead. Some of my first pop culture memories include Michael Jackson videos, E.T. and of course, Star Wars! I wasn't lucky enough to own a Hammerhead figure back then but I remember my older cousin having one. If I ever do a top ten vintage figure head sculpts post, Hammerhead will most definitely be at the top of that list 🔨 🔨 🔨

2020 Goals

Image
2020 Is upon us and with It a slew of resolutions. What are mine you ask? Oh ,you didn't ask. Well I'll tell anyways . I don't have many 2020 goals ,toy related, anyways. One part of my collection that I've always wanted to work on was vintage Star Wars. I'll be trying to pick up more of the figures I had as kid and even that wasn't much but let's see how It goes. The handful of vintage Star Wars figures that I own now aren't really ones of my choice but rather odd ball stuff sent to me from past trades. 2020's newest addition Is none other than the fabulous Hammerhead! Hard to believe this figure came out In 1978!

It's May The 4th So....

Zak Storm - Sino Island Playset

Image
Sometimes, while scrolling through ebay ,I'll throw the word "playsets" into the search query and occasionally something cool catches my eye. I knew nothing about Zak Storm   when I stumbled upon this playset ,but really liked the aesthetics.More than that,I liked the price,$7.69 shipped. Here's the link to the vendor If after you read this post, you're interested. Zak Storm Playset (Oh look they lowered the price, but It might be the last one.Not to worry ,there are dozens more selling for about the same price by other vendors.) I have to admit to being a little scared once I had the box In hand.Looking at the figure through the window,It  was alot smaller than I expected which meant that the playset was probably going to be small as well. Here Is everything you get.And once I saw the pieces ,my pessimism slowly began to fade.I might have gotten lucky after all!Well yes and no. Next to Zak Storm ,the playset looks normal. The figure Is rea...
