Hot Wheels 75th Ann. Captain America - RD-08

Image
I picked up an extra RD-08 to open and I'm really digging It!The kid In me wants to go out back and build a dirt road in the grass for this thing to plow through! You know,I don't think I've ever seen an  exclusive Captain America vehicle In any of the comics I've read.Aside from his motorcycle,Captain America has never had a Captain America mobile.

Two More To Go!

If you've been checking out the new toy forum   Toy-Disorderly  ,then you've seen pics of the giant Hot Wheels bin that I've been picking through the last couple of days, desperately trying to complete my 75 Years of Captain America set.Yesterday I was able to find  Winter Soldier "Rivited" .All I need now Is Bucky's "Spectyte and Red Skulls "Qombee".

Captain America Craze!

One of the cool parts about action figure collecting Is that If you start to to get bored with..say.. Captain America action figures ..then you can always pick up a Captain America  Hot Wheels car. That way you still have all the greatness of the character only In car form! It's not everyday that I get to open a Hot Wheels car.In fact,I never buy Hot Wheels, anything. But sometimes, something comes along that gets In your face and screams "COOL!" and you just can't pass It up.Hence this Hot Wheels Captain America craze that's taken over me these last couple of days. This wasn't even about collecting the entire set or  trying to get started on collecting Hot Wheels or anything. This was all about scratching the nostalgia itch. And  It happens every time a new Captain America flick comes out .I love Captain America merchandise and I still get the warm fuzzies when I see all the department store props and the helium filled balloons with the shield logo. It's all just ...

Hot Wheels Captain America 75 Years- 80's and 90's?

This was all I was able scoop up out of  that die-cast stew that Is the  Hot Wheels discount bin. There were two other customers ,or should I say kids, sorting through It and I just felt like an old fart next to them ,probably grabbing the ones they wanted ,so I stopped searching prematurely just to be able to get out of  Wal Mart with at least a little bit of dignity.I'm glad I found the 80's Sir Ominous because It was the only other one that I really wanted, although I would have liked to complete the set.

Hot Wheels Marvel Clearance Find!

Just found the mother load at my local Martial Law,I mean Wal Mart !I was really hoping to find the rest of the Marvel Pop Culture stuff on clearance but instead I came across this... Dang,I should have picked up the rest.Oh well.Actually the only one I'm really interested In besides the two below and the one 1970 Mustang I bought a while back Is his 1990 tribute car. There was one In the clearance bin but It was pretty beat up.I'm itching to get back to Wal-Mart now.

Hot Wheels discount bins are the ultimate eye catcher.Even If you don't dabble In die cast ,there Is no denying the gravitational pull of  a 3 foot high bin overflowing with brightly packaged , multi-colored  metallic  shininess :) I get sucked In all the time, but never pull the trigger on anything.I don't care much for die cast cars. Not the normal ones. Not even souped up,shark shaped ones. It's a different story when It comes to the Marvel themed Hot-Wheels.I always give those a second look whenever I see them on the pegs, but never picked any up because of the 3 dollar price tag most carry.Well, the other day I was out at my local Wal Mart looking for a wireless mouse w/ mouse pad .Upon finding what I was looking for,I begin walking back towards the checkout line , inevitably passing by that sultry  Hot Wheels discount bin. Evil Hot Wheels bin I tell you, pure evil!I didn't expect to find anything In there ,but a dollar bin Is still a dollar bin.I had to give It a quic...
