I watched a little bit of He-Man back in the 80's, but don't remember Sun-Man and that particular story line. Looking forward to seeing your post on the figures though.
Sun-Man was never a part of MOTU. Back in the 80s a mom was asked by her son why there weren't any black superheroes, so she took it upon herself to create a predominantly black line of action figures in the same vein as MOTU. That's how Sun-Man and the Rulers of the Sun came to be.
