CT Toys - Wolverine (Brown Comic Version)
I usually don't do bootleg action figures,
especially after my bad Spiderman Legends experience. That guy ultimately ended up in the trash. I took the chance on this CT Toys Wolverine figure on the strength of YouTube and positive eBay reviews. Glad I did!
CT Toys ( MAFEX) hits different. The character specific colored box art and design are displayed prominently on all sides of the packaging and has the look and feel of an oversized NES video game. If that makes any sense. The overall presentation screams 80's Marc Silvestri.
You get a lot here. Three sets of hands ( including attached set) , two head sculpts, hanging removed cowl and a display stand. It's pretty insane. Also,You won't have to worry about bruised fingertips or adversely bending your action figure when extracting.Wolverine and contents can be removed and replaced easily due to the loose fitting plastic figure and accessory tray.
The pictures say it all. Even with my less than imaginative and generic poses, this figure shines! With so many points of articulation, the possibilities are endless. Some joints are tighter than others and the figure is a bit on the light side. That said, everything still moves nicely and feels durable. Not Hasbro Legends durable but durable.
An authentic MAFEX brown suit Wolvie will set you back $150 bucks. I got this CT Toys release for about $35 dollars. Now, I may have gotten lucky as far as the condition of my figure goes. No paint issues to speak of and all the accessories, extra heads and hands fit nicely. This seems to be par for the course as reviews for this figure on YouTube are mostly all positive. I'm thinking about picking up the CT Toys Spider-Man Classic figure next and will definitely be picking up Daredevil when it releases. What do you guys think? Is this a figure you might consider picking up? Are you completely against buying bootlegs? Let me know in the comments.
