The Walking Dead - Autopsy Zombie

One of the cool things Walking Dead creators managed to do in their series is to add a little personality to their Zombie characters. It gave credence to the dead walkers and individualized what might have been just another generic Zombie horde. Much like this autopsy Zombie figure. Dressed in his work threads, you can get a feeling of what he may have been doing before turning. Less articulation seems to be a running theme with alot of the zombie figures in this line and understandably so. They aren't ninja or special force commandos. Zombies pretty much just drag ass across the television screen as the unturned either run away or chop into them. So I'm cool with the limited articulation. Enjoy the pics!

  1. Love that they included the squirrel which fits in the stomach. I remember this episode when Daryl and Rick are looking for Sophia and they open the zombie to see if it has pieces of her inside it. Love that McFarlane recreated that detail. Season 2 was the first season I saw on television. Quickly watched the DVD of Season 1 before it started. For a long time I thought Season 2 was pretty boring, but watching it a few years later, it was one of my favorites in terms of character development and anxiety.

    1. Too bad Shane didn't survive. Would loved to have seen Shane through the entire story. Funny that Rick goes full Shane by Season 5.

    2. It can get a bit repetitive but just when that happens, a new character is introduced and then your hooked again. I didn't even think to put the squirrel in his open chest 🤣

  3. You're right. They really do have personality and I too try to think about their last moments before they turned. Good figure.

  4. That would be a cool spin off. What exactly was the well zombie up to when it happened to him , and so on and so forth.

    1. AMC created a few webisodes during the first few seasons. If you search Youtube for Walking Dead webisodes, you can see the 4-6 part backstory of Bicycle Girl. Each is 2-2.5 minutes long. That was cool. They did a few more, nothing that memorable. The last one was seeing how Rick came into possession of the machete with the red grip. That was pretty neat. It follows the journey of the red machete from one survivor to another.

  6. I got into The Walking Dead figures when series one came out back in the day, but sold them shortly thereafter. The prices at the time were so ridiculous on secondary markets. I think Daryl was going for $100+. I found one at a book store that was tucked away in their stock room.

  7. Nice! I like the line. They're a nice change of pace from all of the more mainstream action figures out there.

  8. Not a Walking Dead fan or into zombies, but the sculpt/paint deco on these is fantastic

  9. Aren't they? They've supplanted my Legends and Joe Classified figures. The shelf of badass is now the shelf of Walking Dead!
