Dr. Doom - Marvel Select

Marvel Select has alot of incredible figures in their repertoire and this Doom just ain't one of em'. Don't get me wrong, Its not a horrible figure. Joints are solid, paint apps on point and all accessories are functional. The gun fits nicely in Doom's hand and holster. The switchable hand holding the chalice is also a nice addition.  After taking the figure out of the packaging I got a lot of Jack Kirby vibes. I guess that's not a bad thing. This is definitely a throwback sculpt of Dr. Doom and while it's not my favorite, it'll fit in nicely with the rest of my Select collection. The real gem in this set is Dooms throne. Although I'll admit to being leery about the possibility of  Doom not being able to sit in it properly. Such was not the case, though, due to the latex like material Doom's cape is made out of. It's very form fitting and allows Doom to lamp flawlessly in his favorite seat! Enjoy the pics!

    Legends Doom is a great figure. Select Doom is a different animal, but cool in it's own right.

The other day ,my better half and I had the chance to traverse our local mall early In the day.I hate going to malls at peak hours or on the weekends.The crowds are just too damn cool for me.Long story short,our mall now has a toy store! I couldn't believe my eyes.From a far It looked like It was going to be some artsy fartsy place with educational toys ,wooden blocks and model kits,but no!This place had pretty much everything collectors go for nowadays.The name of the store Is "Go!,Toys and Games" and I can honestly say that I've never heard of It before.Everything was a dollar or two extra ,but that's not too bad considering how ridiculously expensive modern toys are In hobby and toy shops these days.I really hope this place sticks around. There Is a nice mix of everything.Marvel Legends,Star Wars  to blind bags to Funko figs.On top of that there are tons of board games   and books. WTF? Yes! 3 3/4 Marvel Legends!!!!!Not alot thou

A GI Joe Post That's Not Classified

As much as I love the Classified line of Joe figures, I feel like there's other Joe stuff out there that deserve a little bit of that spotlight.   Pictured are two custom cardback figure protectors and four Diamond Select 💎  GI Joe figures.   I'd been looking for a way to protect my stashed 3.75  o-ring Joe's when I came across these online. I picked up William Perry's and Snake Eyes protectors and will be adding more as they are made available.   These are unpunched, clean and professional looking cardbacks that feature vintage artwork  on the front and file card on the back.  Diamond Select just doesn't get the props they deserve in my opinion. As much as I dig  their Marvel Minimates line, these Joe Minimates are equally cool! I'm not even sure I want to open these guys up. I mean I want to, but would hate to.

Recent Pick Up!

My last "Merry Christmas To Me" post was going to be of Marvel Legends Spider-Man animated cartoon series figure that I thought I was getting a great deal on. It turns out the figure was a bootleg. $30 down the drain and a fake Spider Man figure in the trash. I didn't even bother trying to get a refund from the seller. I'll chalk it up to a loss and keep it moving. So today I figured I'd  treat myself to something dope in the toy aisles at my local Walmart and found this!  I'm not sure if this is a reissue or what but It was the last one on the pegs and so I grabbed it. Now I can't get that damned theme song out of my head.
