Just What I Expected

The lighter fluid worked like magic.The sticker popped right off literally ,in  seconds.Only to reveal that either an attempt at peeling it off before had been made,ripping the cardback or the cardback was ripped already and the seller just placed the worlds largest sticker over it.Im not even sure if this "1988 edition "sticker is native to Starting Lineup figure packaging.I dont remember ever seeing a sticker like this on any SLs as a kid.I wouldn't have minded displaying the packaging as is ,with torn cardback,but it's the smudge that really bugs the shit outta me now.I think its time to release Parker from his cardback confines,touch up the bill of his cap with a little yellow acrylic paint and call it a day.

    ouch!is there package paper stuck to the back of the sticker? If not it was put there to hide the rip.

    No,i think it was a cover up 😆It fit perfectly over the tear.That sticker could have come from literally anything that came out in 1988 lol.I cant imagine Kenner giving the o.k. on that eyesoar.

      I have been told that it is very likely that sticker came off a case of baseball cards. Im not sure if its a year set or a case of wax packs.Im waiting on a confirmation photo.

The other day ,my better half and I had the chance to traverse our local mall early In the day.I hate going to malls at peak hours or on the weekends.The crowds are just too damn cool for me.Long story short,our mall now has a toy store! I couldn't believe my eyes.From a far It looked like It was going to be some artsy fartsy place with educational toys ,wooden blocks and model kits,but no!This place had pretty much everything collectors go for nowadays.The name of the store Is "Go!,Toys and Games" and I can honestly say that I've never heard of It before.Everything was a dollar or two extra ,but that's not too bad considering how ridiculously expensive modern toys are In hobby and toy shops these days.I really hope this place sticks around. There Is a nice mix of everything.Marvel Legends,Star Wars  to blind bags to Funko figs.On top of that there are tons of board games   and books. WTF? Yes! 3 3/4 Marvel Legends!!!!!Not alot thou

A GI Joe Post That's Not Classified

As much as I love the Classified line of Joe figures, I feel like there's other Joe stuff out there that deserve a little bit of that spotlight.   Pictured are two custom cardback figure protectors and four Diamond Select 💎  GI Joe figures.   I'd been looking for a way to protect my stashed 3.75  o-ring Joe's when I came across these online. I picked up William Perry's and Snake Eyes protectors and will be adding more as they are made available.   These are unpunched, clean and professional looking cardbacks that feature vintage artwork  on the front and file card on the back.  Diamond Select just doesn't get the props they deserve in my opinion. As much as I dig  their Marvel Minimates line, these Joe Minimates are equally cool! I'm not even sure I want to open these guys up. I mean I want to, but would hate to.

Pop Culture League Assignment - Shelfie

I remember The League of Extraordinary Bloggers back In the day, never partook In any of the festivities, though. This time around, especially with state of  the blogosphere , I feel I need to participate a little more to see If we can breathe life back into toy blogging! So , a big thank you to Brian over at Cool and Collected  for  bringing the League back. Here's my  introductory league assignment post. Very simple ,snap a pic of two of your very favorite shelves. I chose the two shelves hat display all of my vintage . It only recently wrapped around to the bottom shelf with the addition of  a couple of Swamp Thing figures I received from Brother Midnight In a recent trade. I'm hoping to fill out the bottom shelf over the coarse of the winter.
