Star Wars Black Series 3 3/4 - Lando Calrissian

Image
Lando was always one of my favorites In the Star Wars films.I can remember ,as a kid ,owning a Kenner Jabbas Palace/Skiff Guard   Lando with removable helmet.I didn't have many Star Wars figures as a kid so my skiff guard Lando got to go on lots of solo missions. This one here Is the Cloud City version and I love It just the same!No helmet and minimum weapons (1 pistol)  but still a damn good figure.Soft goods Is always a plus in my book and these contemporary Star Wars figures don't disappoint In that department. Man,just a sweet figure! I think Kenner's head sculpt Is more accurate as far  as the character likeness goes.Which reminds me,If anybody has a spare Kenner skiff guard helmet laying around, let me know!  Here's where my modern Star Wars collection stands today.Only 12 deep but still growing.Obi Wan and Princess Leia figures are next on my list.

Post a Pic Of Your Most Eccentric Action Figure!

Palisades Indy Kermit Is the best I could come up with. While not terribly eccentric ,compared to all my other ,somewhat normal figures ,he certainly is.I got this In a trade with Brother Midnight a while back  and I still haven't managed to find a spot for him anywhere In my collection.Needless to say ,Adventure Kermit Isn't doing much adventuring these days  as he spends most of his time cooped   up In his packaging.Still,he's gotta be one of the most unique figures I own. Spyda, over at 20 Years Before 2000 has what has got to be the coolest TMNT item ever! Mr.Smith chose Godzil--- hey ,that's not..!

Round Robin Challenge : Post a Pic Of Your Most Eccentric Action Figure!

This week we take a look at our nearest and wierdest!Post a pic or multiple pics of the most eccentric action figure In your collection. This would be a museum worthy action figure. One that would draw alot of ooohs and aaaahs from an art show crowd.Good luck, people! Busts or PVC are fine, too!

Desktop Heroes!

Sometimes ,while sitting at my desktop ,I'll be looking around at my collection and I'll get the urge to fiddle around with a certain action figure. This particular time It was my Infinite Series Daredevil figure.

Curating

Image
Curate ;  select, organize, and look after the items in (a collection or exhibition). "both exhibitions are curated by the museum's director" Lets    start with the first one.How do I select my collection or items In my collection? Very simple. 95 % of It  has to have some kind of childhood connection.I had to have at least owned It or wanted It real bad as a kid.Although lately I've been restricting myself ,only acquiring vintage that I owned as a kid.The other 5% Is made up of miscellaneous things that I just think are cool. Second, how do I organize? I guess you could count displaying as organizing as everything that I have displayed Is bunched together according to the line. All my Joes together, all my Marvel Universe together and so on and so forth.I'm too ocd to have It any other way.Once In a while I'll mix a Joe into my Marvel Universe display and vice versa ,but for the most part my figures are segregated.

Star Wars Black Series 3 3/4 - Luke Skywalker

Image
I was happy to find these figures marked all the way down to 5 bucks and some change from their original 13 dollar price tag.I've already got a battle at Hoth   Luke in his X-Wing uniform and a Power of the Force Bespin Luke which was basically a place holder until I could come across a better, more articulated  version. This Luke I really like although I'm just realizing that this Is not the Luke/Vader final battle version. He's not wearing his glove.I believe this Is the Luke that confronts Jabba because of the robe he's wearing. If anybody has anymore info I'd greatly appreciate It. I've watched the films a ton but I'm not one of those line for line, scene for scene fanatics. I really like him In his robe, though. One odd thing about this figure, and I think It's been covered before In past reviews,Is the loss or lack of paint on the tips of his boots.I'm not sure If It's supposed to be wear  or just a figure flaw.I could always touch It up

This Just Happened!

With my villains already having a place (Castle Doom) to kick back and unwind ,I really needed a way to set off my hero display. What better way to do that than with the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier! This Is how It comes in the box, tied down with the included instructions, decals and Captain America action figure.Putting this  together Is a snap.Literally.The pieces snap together effortlessly yet hold tight once connected. Here It Is assembled with decals. This thing Is big.Not to scale, though. Not even close. But seriously, had It been In scale  ,I would probably have to remove my bed in order for It to fit In the room. This Is no U.S.S. Flag ,but It works. As a display piece, you get all the aesthetics. As a kid,I probably would have liked to see more play features added.I'll go over those next. Of the 7 guns that the carrier Is armed with, only 5  shoot missiles.the two cannons that stick out of the front part of the carrier look cool but don't have any kind of
