John Matrix/Commando Vintage Figure

Image
Commando was 20th Century Fox's answer to 1982's  hit,Rambo. The film received good ratings but never became as popular as the Rambo series of films that were being released around the same time.Arnold, however, would go on to become an 80's icon!As a kid I owned the Rambo figure.I would have probably wanted this figure as well but didn't even know It existed.I never saw any at retail. It wasn't until one summer day, these two kids saw me playing outside with my Rambo figure. One of them asked me If I would trade Rambo for their Commando figure.I told them I had to see It first before making my decision. The kids ran back to their house and within minutes were back at my front steps with their Commando/John Matrix figure.I have to admit,he looked pretty damn cool.In fact that was their selling point. They tried hard to persuade me ,bringing up the fact that their Commando figure looked more realistic and had more muscles than my Rambo figure did, lol!I noticed ,right away,t...

The rest were some cool extras John decided to throw In . I'll be going over everything individually these next couple of days.Stay tuned!

Star Wars Black Series 3 3/4 - Captain Phasma

Image
With the 3 3/4 Black Series SW figures going on clearance this past week,I had to snag some up.Captain Phasma was a figure I really liked the look of,but didn't really need. I'm only trying to collect the figures based on the older films.I just had to make an exception for Phasma, though.First of all ,Wal Mart was practically throwing these figures at the customer, displaying them on the end caps as well as In the aisles. The last three I really wanted from this line was Kyloren,Captain Phasma and Admiral Ackbar. I got the last two but Kylo was no where to be found :(     Can you believe I still haven't seen any of the new Star Wars movies? In fact I couldn't even tell you the titles.I'm so out of the loop It Isn't even funny.I will catch them on DVD at some point or just wait until they hit  Netflix or Hulu.I have seen tons of trailers, though, and Phasma here has been the subject of many rant videos.First off,Captain Phasma Is a strong  female character ,but ...

My Favorite Quick Kick Moments!

One of my all time  favorite G.I. Joe figures! Pretty sure It was Quick Kick's smelly foot that renders Storm Shadow unconscious In this clip.

Figure Fixation

Image
It's that time again, people.A lull has struck and the influx of toys has come to a screeching hault! For a little while anyways. But this Is a good thing because now I get to appreciate what I do  have.I used to have a "Favorite 5 Right Now " segment where I would post the 5 figures that I was currently digging the most In my collection.Things have changed  a bit as far as how I look at my figures.Yeah there will always be that one that I tend to focus on  ,but I'm starting to realize that how I display them plays a big part  In what catches my eye the most. It's weird ,I know. But many who know me In real life will tell you that I'm weird ,so, there ya go.So I'm changing these posts name from "Favorite 5 Right Now" to "Figure Fixation".Because that's what happens.I get fixated on a figure for one reason or another, pick It up and take a picture of It.It's kind of like exorcising the fixation. Chameleon here has really grown on me...

At The Corner Store

Image
Ooooh, this is a good one!Corner stores. What would we,as kids, have done without em'!Corner stores were our gas stations.Where we would go to fuel up on junk food at the midway point of our  day.On the way there we would reflect on how things  had gone so far and speculate on what might or should happen next.Jokes were  told, friends were clowned and many a fart was laid. I think It was one of those things where the journey was more  enjoyable  than the destination. After all,we were free!Like Toy Box mentioned In his Round Robin post, back In the days there were no terror threats,Ebola outbreaks or ballsy pedophiles on the prowl. We all came from the same hood so everybody knew everybody and all the crazies knew better than to mess with anybody's kids.Corner store visits was our time to walk the streets on our own, free of any parental guidance. The sidewalks were ours to speed on with our bikes and skateboards.Parks, even if chained up,always had a weak link and a...
