Swiffer "One and Done" Diorama Update

Image
So  I took  Fuji's  advice and painted my Swiffer box.I was going for all white but the blue bled through a little too much ,so I decided to blend In a little black to give It a worn metal appearance. Next,I'll take some of this All Purpose Compound and spread It on the floor and upper part  of  Swiffer box .This stuff Is cool because It dries quickly and stays In place.Once It fully dries ,depending on what colors you use,you could give It a sand or snow appearance.I'm doing a  winter scene. Once you have your compound spread out,dab at It with a brillo pad or crumpled up napkin to give It a nice, textured look. I left the center open because I plan  on placing an LED battery operated light at the top .To get the icicle effect, just spread the compound on top and dab at it with your finger. This should give you the effect. Here's the finished product sans the LED.Once the compound dries completely ,I'll go over It with a light

Fun With Star Wars and a Swiffer Box!

Those of you who follow this ,and other toy blogs I've had In the past, know how much I love using miscellaneous packaging and boxes to create backgrounds and dioramas. This time we look at Swiffer pad boxes! Not only do they make for  great little storage bins, but they also have a cool ,space vibe to them that work well for displaying  space themed figures. Also, this idea Is right up your alley If you're into recycling. You could get jiggy with It and paint It up If you'd like,or just leave It as Is.Other figures might work with this ,too, but I feel Star Wars works the best. If you have any cool diy toy display ideas ,I'd love to see them!If you're a toy collector, you know that shelf space Is always at a minimum so It doesn't hurt to get creative when looking for alternate display possibilities.

Latest Pick Ups

Not much ,just a couple of things ,but something big on the horizon ;)First up we have some super cheap third party Sega Genesis six button controllers. After popping In my Judge Dredd game the other day ,I realized that It implements six button play.I quickly hopped online and picked up the cheapest set I could find and unfortunately got what I paid for :( Don't get me wrong, they serve their purpose, but that's it.Out of the box they are extremely lightweight and feel cheap. The buttons stick out excessively ,so It feels like your  pushing down on a pen top, only without the resistance. The D- Pad works good and overall ,the controller is usable, but there are definitely better options out there. These will make good place holders If your looking to do some fast gaming until you can get yourself a legit six button pad. My next purchase was a little better. Marvel Universe Is my shit.I can't get enough of  it and I'm constantly looking for new additions to make
