Lanard CORPS! Elite - Mech Suit w/ Troll

Image
You have to give It to Lanard.Right when you think they've shit the bed ,out comes a whole new wave of discount action figure  goodness.I'm sort of late to the party, but luckily my Wal Mart keeps these guys fresh on the pegs daily, enabling me to at least get a couple quick reviews In before they finally leave the stores.I really wanted to pick this set up,not just because of the mech, but for the Troll figure !He's very underrated I think, and Is one of the nicer looking figures out of this new wave.I probably would have passed on the mech suit, actually, had they released a single carded Troll. That's how much I dig the figure.Lets take a look at Troll first and then I'll go over the mech - suit. According to his bio,Troll was once a member of a group of villains who went by the name Marauders.Apparently,he too was injected with the same nano technology as  Shadow ,enhancing his strength and agility. Here's a link to all the new character bios to get a better

Lanard CORPS! Elite - Plague

Image
Plague,The baddie formerly known as Shadow!Hugo "Shadow " Ortiz was a covert ops good guy  In the CORPS! who ,to quote his bio , " Strayed into the obscure".After messing around with some nano-technology ,Shadow becomes Plague, leader of  The Curse!Check out the artwork!I don't know who's doing all of Lanards illustrations, but you can tell they are moving In the right direction. The artwork, story line and additional characters do a great job of complimenting each other .I think a CORPS! hour length animated film on DVD would tie everything together and make this a heavyweight as far as discount toys go.These guys need to be brought to life! Here's  Shadow next to Plague. Both have the same sculpts with different paint apps.I'm really like the Curse faction symbol. I'm glad I decided to hang onto all of my CORPS! figures. With these newly released figures,I should be able to amass a nice army of them.

Recent Pick Ups

I've been wanting to add some of the newer CORPS! figures to the collection.I'll be doing separate write ups for Troll w/ Mech and Plague.Stay tuned!

1984 Cannell A-Team- MR. T ( B.A. Baracus)

Image
Mr.T was a staple In my childhood and yours too If you grew up In the 80's.He was a larger than life,In yo face character who stood for everything that was good .Mr. T taught us the right thing to do.He taught us to never bully, stand up for ourselves and to be kind while doing It.He also taught us how to say "I pity da fool!"He was on our lunchboxes, television screens and cereal boxes and frankly, there was no one cooler than! This past week I was able to negotiate with an awesome eBay-er,and I got my very own Mr.T action figure!I already had a B.A. Baracus Galoob 3 3/4 fig but that one ,while cool, just doesn't do him any justice. This Cannell (what the hell Is a Cannell?, I never heard of this toy manufacturer)produced  Mr.T figure Is a better representation of the character, with the jewelry, tattoos and  trademark outfit! I expected the plastic on this figure to be a little heftier ,but It's really not that chunky. He feels rather light In hand. Alot
