Elite Force - Delta Force Attack Vehicle Set

Image
I've been meaning to pick up some more Elite Force figures for some time now. I owned a couple back In the day but  traded them away to my good buddy Orniphus .Shout out to Derek,If your reading ;) For those of you who have never heard of Elite Force, they are a line of discount military figures.Single carded figures were 5 bucks a pop and the multi-figure 5 packs sold for 20 bucks! They also released a ton of great looking vehicles and sets .The vehicles are solid but the figures can be hit or miss. There were some QC issues  and every now and again you'd get a dud figure with a loose arm joint or torso.Nothing too bad  considering the price point.I recently picked up the Delta Force Attack Vehicle set .And speaking of Delta Force..... Do yourselves a favor and let this video play while you read on. Here's the set In packaging.  On the back you'll see various other pics of Elite Force product. Here's the figure ,vehicle and accessories inside

The Punisher War Journal Issue #1

It must have been summer of 1989  when I picked this one up, as a 12 year old, while visiting my moms side of the family In Manhattan,NY. I remember It clearly. My mom, sister and I walking through a crowded Delancey St. In search of a clothing store for my sister.Me?I didn't want no stinkin' clothes.I wanted comics! And It turns out magazine news stands outnumbered clothing stores 20 to 1 on that particular strip so I got to get my shopping on first!I can remember my sister throwing a fit about It,calling me a spoiled brat under her breath ,lol! She was right, though ;) As we crossed the busy street, approaching  the newsstand ,I could see It!There It was!A first issue Punisher mag with issues 2 and 3 right behind It!I scooped up all three along with a few other miscellaneous titles.    The amount of nostalgia swirling around my head right now , as I type this , Is off the charts!Punisher War Journal was one of my most immersive comic book experiences.Ever! An experience I am look

Re-Collecting My Childhood Comics!

In the 80's ,X-Men Classic,or Classic X-Men ,whichever one you prefer, were a great series of comic books. As a kid I had a few stragglers ,you know ,late issues In my collection but I could never find that elusive number 1.So when Jim Lee dropped X-Men #1, In 1991 , I was all In.I was finally going to be  able to follow an X-Men story arc from the very beginning!Ya see, comic books was our Netflix.Only we had to wait a full month before we could get our hands on the next episode. And even after that month long wait,It wasn't a sure thing that your local comic shop would have any In stock.Still, there was nothing more exhilarating than walking into a  shop and finding that new release!Right away, X- Men became life.I had other comics In my collection.West Coast Avengers,Captain America,Spider-Man but nothing ever came close to my collection of  Jim Lee X-Men comic books.Today,I am one step closer to obtaining all of the Jim Lee X-Men comics I had as a kid. There's lots more to g

Comic Rack Reboot

Ever since my  curbside comic rack find  ,I've found myself looking more and more into comic book collecting. It's a facet of the hobby I've shied away from because of the increase In price of a single book. Now that I have this comic rack ,I've found myself looking for that quick comic book fix In those discount multi-packs of vintage ,out of print, books. These ,however, have yet to relinquish anything  I had as a kid. It's not even hit or miss.In fact,up to this point It's been strictly misses. In an effort to rectify the problem,I've decided to just go after titles I had growing up.The comics that really meant something to me.I mean, quality over quantity right?I'd rather recoup  one title I owned as a kid as opposed to acquiring 20 comics that I probably wouldn't have batted an eye at as a kid or even now as an adult. Every time I get these new collecting urges I like to do a little preparation. You know , small things to amp me  up about a new endeavor.
