2 MINUTE TOY BREAK !

Legions,Legends,la,la,la,la,la whatever.Transformers have more classes than the military.I'm thinking the Legions Class are the smallest of the figures considering how wimpy Gwimlock wooks In his itty ,bitty, shitty wobot mode.I thought he'd look nice next to my Generations Optimus and Bumblebee,but negative.I actually had to improvise his leg length by folding out an extra piece to make him look a little taller.The packaging,not pictured here,was also a bit deceiving.It shows an awesome G1 style Grimlock on the card,which  prompted me to do a double take.After being let down when I realized that the figure within  wasn't based on the G1 version,I decided to pass It up. Then I thought about It a little more and decided,hey what the heck,he does have the G1 color going for him,so I changed my tune and ultimately snagged him up.It was  also on sale for like three bucks so why not.The big disappointment came after taking him out of his packaging and seeing how dinky he looke...

Transformers Mashers have grown on me thanks to Orniphus over at Coolandunusual. Immediately after selling off a couple of figures on eBay I went out and picked up a Megatron and Soundwave Masher,and I love them both!They're fun action figures.Not all of the TF Mashers are G1 accurate, but  Optimus (he's next on my list),Megatron and Soundwave certainly are.Below we have the busy Masher box and Soundwave In his plastic tray. My one gripe,and it's a pretty big one is the complete omission of  a  Decepticon symbol.Not cool,man,not cool :( Soundwave comes with lots of cool weapons and an extra arm that belongs to Sideswipe. Overall,a great figure and rendition of  one of the most iconic characters In  Transformers  universe.

Like I stated In my last post,I'm not a big fan of the whole masher movement,but I think the gimmick makes most sense with the Transformers.While not all the figures in the Transformers Mashers line are aesthetically pleasing ,some are.Particularly the ones In the deluxe sets.Those come with alot of  extra chowder to attach to your figure to give them an overall better appearance.Hence the reason why I snagged up Megatron. I love the bright packaging.It has a comic book feel to It with speech bubbles and dialouge boxes throughout the front and back.                                     Nothing brings me back like popping an action figure out of his plastic tray.  Megatron Masher looks good on his own,sans weapons or attachments.Hasbro does a great job of capturing his G1 appearance. "I don't need no stinkin' Mashers" was my reaction to the Marvel Mashers craze that spread throughout the toy collecting community like the plague!I would see them everywhere,on store shelves and discount stores like 5 Below ,and every time It was the same reaction - "I don't need no stinkin' Mashers".I liked the character variation and their bright and shiny appearance,but I wasn't feeling the interchangeability of  the body parts.And even then, I might  have lived with that ,had It not been for all those ports and holes on their arms and legs.I know It's for the kids,but I'm no kid.And even as a kid I  would have passed on Marvel Mashers because super heroes don't have ports or interchangeable parts.Then the Star Wars Mashers line descended upon us from a "galaxy ,far ,far, away" - see what I did there ;) Again, the sculpts were kick ass and the paint poppin' but the swap-able limb gimmick   killed It for me.Then one d...

Two figures that really excited me once I spotted them In D's package were Marvel Universe Baron Zemo and Team X Wolverine. I already knew about Zemo but the Wolvie was a complete surprise. Zemo looks great!I've been wanting to add this figure to my small army of Marvel villains for a long time now and now I can finally scratch him off my list.He cam with a pistol that just wouldn't stay In his hand and a fancy schmancy sword.At first I had some issues with the sword staying in his hand but after positioning It differently,It worked out. I've always likened Baron Zemo to Cobra Commander.It would have been cool to have an alternate hooded version of him.
