Son of Zorn - Zorn (Funko)

I said I had had It with the influx of Funko but when I first laid eyes on this figure In the movie/media section of my Target ,It left an impression.So much so that I had to go back for It .Son of Zorn was a Roger Rabbit like series that lasted only one season before being cancelled.The show  starred Zorn ,a barbarian who moves to Orange County California to reconnect with Ex-Wife and son. I've only caught snippets of It on Hulu. Hopefully they will release the whole season at some point.

Collect all two! lol!

Funko borrows from older styled Remco action figures for their Zorn design and totally pulled It off.I ,honestly , can't say a bad thing about this action figure.Everything on It has been executed pretty much flawlessly.Like I've stated in the past,I like going after figures that appeal to the kid In me.Zorn would have immediately been moved to the top of my action figure ranks.He's that bad ass.And that sword..!


Zorn sports 6 points of articulation ,including the all important swivel waist  for  action poses.He also has a functioning holster for sword storage. 


At first I thought I had a defective figure but It turns out....


...Zorn is balding on the show.Funny shit!


Here he is next to Remco's Lost World of Warlord  Arak and Mattel's Motu He-Man .As you can see,he fits In nicely,almost outshining the vintage figures.

The other day ,my better half and I had the chance to traverse our local mall early In the day.I hate going to malls at peak hours or on the weekends.The crowds are just too damn cool for me.Long story short,our mall now has a toy store! I couldn't believe my eyes.From a far It looked like It was going to be some artsy fartsy place with educational toys ,wooden blocks and model kits,but no!This place had pretty much everything collectors go for nowadays.The name of the store Is "Go!,Toys and Games" and I can honestly say that I've never heard of It before.Everything was a dollar or two extra ,but that's not too bad considering how ridiculously expensive modern toys are In hobby and toy shops these days.I really hope this place sticks around. A GI Joe Post That's Not Classified

As much as I love the Classified line of Joe figures, I feel like there's other Joe stuff out there that deserve a little bit of that spotlight.   Pictured are two custom cardback figure protectors and four Diamond Select 💎  GI Joe figures.   I'd been looking for a way to protect my stashed 3.75  o-ring Joe's when I came across these online. I picked up William Perry's and Snake Eyes protectors and will be adding more as they are made available.   These are unpunched, clean and professional looking cardbacks that feature vintage artwork  on the front and file card on the back.  Diamond Select just doesn't get the props they deserve in my opinion. As much as I dig  their Marvel Minimates line, these Joe Minimates are equally cool! I'm not even sure I want to open these guys up. I mean I want to, but would hate to.

Pop Culture League Assignment - Shelfie

I remember The League of Extraordinary Bloggers back In the day, never partook In any of the festivities, though. This time around, especially with state of  the blogosphere , I feel I need to participate a little more to see If we can breathe life back into toy blogging! So , a big thank you to Brian over at Cool and Collected  for  bringing the League back. Here's my  introductory league assignment post. Very simple ,snap a pic of two of your very favorite shelves. I chose the two shelves hat display all of my vintage . It only recently wrapped around to the bottom shelf with the addition of  a couple of Swamp Thing figures I received from Brother Midnight In a recent trade. I'm hoping to fill out the bottom shelf over the coarse of the winter.
