Figure Fixation

Image
It's that time again, people.A lull has struck and the influx of toys has come to a screeching hault! For a little while anyways. But this Is a good thing because now I get to appreciate what I do  have.I used to have a "Favorite 5 Right Now " segment where I would post the 5 figures that I was currently digging the most In my collection.Things have changed  a bit as far as how I look at my figures.Yeah there will always be that one that I tend to focus on  ,but I'm starting to realize that how I display them plays a big part  In what catches my eye the most. It's weird ,I know. But many who know me In real life will tell you that I'm weird ,so, there ya go.So I'm changing these posts name from "Favorite 5 Right Now" to "Figure Fixation".Because that's what happens.I get fixated on a figure for one reason or another, pick It up and take a picture of It.It's kind of like exorcising the fixation. Chameleon here has really grown on me...

At The Corner Store

Image
Ooooh, this is a good one!Corner stores. What would we,as kids, have done without em'!Corner stores were our gas stations.Where we would go to fuel up on junk food at the midway point of our  day.On the way there we would reflect on how things  had gone so far and speculate on what might or should happen next.Jokes were  told, friends were clowned and many a fart was laid. I think It was one of those things where the journey was more  enjoyable  than the destination. After all,we were free!Like Toy Box mentioned In his Round Robin post, back In the days there were no terror threats,Ebola outbreaks or ballsy pedophiles on the prowl. We all came from the same hood so everybody knew everybody and all the crazies knew better than to mess with anybody's kids.Corner store visits was our time to walk the streets on our own, free of any parental guidance. The sidewalks were ours to speed on with our bikes and skateboards.Parks, even if chained up,always had a weak link and a...

Swiffer Box Dio Finalized

Image
I've finally put the finishing touches on my Swiffer dios, adding the Velcro wall mounts on them and placing the clear plastic covers on them to keep figures from falling out and to give It an encased finish.Below are the Velcro mounts I used. These Velcro mounts are cool because they allow for the displays to be removed and then re-attached If needed. The backs of the Swiffer boxes give you more than enough spots to place them. You can have them attached horizontally at the top and bottom or vertically over the two rounded indentations.     I chose to hang mine up on the exposed side of my shelving unit. The clear plastic covers really set them off I think and protect your figures at the same time.I would imagine this would be great for pretty much any collectible. You could paint up the background however you like and display everything from mini figures to baseball cards! If any of you guys ever decide to try this out ,I'd love to see them!       ...

Star Wars Black Series 3 3/4 - Lando Calrissian

Image
Lando was always one of my favorites In the Star Wars films.I can remember ,as a kid ,owning a Kenner Jabbas Palace/Skiff Guard   Lando with removable helmet.I didn't have many Star Wars figures as a kid so my skiff guard Lando got to go on lots of solo missions. This one here Is the Cloud City version and I love It just the same!No helmet and minimum weapons (1 pistol)  but still a damn good figure.Soft goods Is always a plus in my book and these contemporary Star Wars figures don't disappoint In that department. Man,just a sweet figure! I think Kenner's head sculpt Is more accurate as far  as the character likeness goes.Which reminds me,If anybody has a spare Kenner skiff guard helmet laying around, let me know!  Here's where my modern Star Wars collection stands today.Only 12 deep but still growing.Obi Wan and Princess Leia figures are next on my list.

Post a Pic Of Your Most Eccentric Action Figure!

Image
Palisades Indy Kermit Is the best I could come up with. While not terribly eccentric ,compared to all my other ,somewhat normal figures ,he certainly is.I got this In a trade with Brother Midnight a while back  and I still haven't managed to find a spot for him anywhere In my collection.Needless to say ,Adventure Kermit Isn't doing much adventuring these days  as he spends most of his time cooped   up In his packaging.Still,he's gotta be one of the most unique figures I own. Spyda, over at 20 Years Before 2000 has what has got to be the coolest TMNT item ever! Mr.Smith chose Godzil--- hey ,that's not..!
