Toy Dreams
Anybody here ever have toy dreams? Last night I had a dream that I was in a hobby shop looking through a spin rack of loose action figures. There were lots of figures I needed but nothing I was looking for. What I wanted wasn't anywhere to be seen but I knew It was there because aparantly I had seen it there before lol.I asked the guy behind the counter If he still had the 3 3/4 Batman figure that came with his batcave ,it sold as a set.He grabs the set ( It looked like a Battle Mountain playset with one of those black rubber motorcycle riding Batman figures)from behind the counter and places it on the glass counter top as I clamour on to a guy sitting behind me about how hard it is to find a cheap 3 3/4 articulated Batman figure 😄😄😄 Anyhow, the set was selling for 28 dollars , I offered 25 and the vendor accepted. Funny shit! I woke up chuckling to myself as I made my way to the bathroom and then to the toy room, all the while questioning my sanity lol. I knew I was ok ,though, once I peeked into my toy room and realized I already had a pretty decent 3 3/4 Batman figure 😉
I'd love to hear your toy related dreams,so share em If you got em !
My last dream about toys involved me finding a guy who had boxes upon boxes on carded G.I. Joe and Star Wars figures, all vintage stuff. I immediately set to buying it all. However, there was an underlying tone to all of this. See, the other part of this dream was my mind trying to ponder how I would pay for all of it with the limited funds I had available.
ReplyDeleteWhen I woke up and pondered the dream, I couldn't help but conclude it was my brain trying to send me a message that I was spending far too much money on toys. My brain desires them, but my bank account quickly shows the reality of the situation. At least that's what I concluded from it all.
Yeah, most likely, that was the case.I thought immediately about your post a couple months back LOL. Maybe I was having one of those withdrawal dreams since I haven't bought a new action figure in months!
ReplyDeleteThe last clear one I had was seeing an entire aisle of Planet of the Apes toys. It was so real, when I woke up, i was like - dagnabbit. I am not a big Apes fan but did like the new trilogy, purchased the NECA apes and the Super7 ReAction figures.
ReplyDeleteBefore 1995, I often had dreams of seeing Star Wars figures again. They were so real, I tried to figure out how to get back to the store...cause I knew it was real. Had a lot of those. With the arrival of The Power of the Force line, that stopped. Crazy how real they were.
Fascinating stuff!Isn't It crazy the things our minds can conjure up while we sleep?
DeleteI'm sure I have... but not sure if I've had any recently. I definitely dream about finding nice collections of baseball cards at the flea market every now and then. I'm always so bummed when I wake up and realize it was only a dream.
ReplyDeleteI know doesn't that suck!?!Reality always disappoints lol.
DeleteI recently had a dream that I was standing at the Georgia Guidestones and it said to limit the number of toys in ones collection to no more than 200 items. I woke up and thought it was very profound because for the last month I have been getting rid of 90% of my stuff in order to fit in to my new stage of life. I still feel like maybe 200 is a little much though. Deciding what to keep and what will display tastefully has been heavy on my mind and I guess my subconscious was trying to point me in a good direction.
ReplyDeleteThe Georgia Guidestones 😆 I'm pretty sure I have well over 200 action figures. I've actually lived that dream only the Guidestones was my wife lol.
DeleteOne recurring dream I have is going back to my parents house and grabbing my collection from their attic and while there I discover a hidden door which leads to a room filled with vintage goodies! Man, I really need to get my stuff and while there I'll keep my open for any mysterious doors!
ReplyDeleteDope Spyda! Quite often I'll have dreams about my childhood neighborhoods and past homes my family and I have lived in.Some of them almost feel like OBEs.
ReplyDeleteThe one I remember right now was one I had when I was a kid, it was a super realistic dream were my parents and I went to a store and saw this amazing G.I. Joe vehicle and my parents bought it for me on the spot!
ReplyDeleteThen I woke up and felt the most incredible sadness that I almost cried. I laugh about it today but it was incredible the ride of emotions that dream gave me, from super elated and happy heart racing to soul crushing defeat and despair.
Aww man that sucks!Did you ever get the vehicle later on down the road?
DeleteIt was a non-existant vehicle, something made up by my mind for that dream. But yeah, they bought more than I deserved so I can't complain, bless them.
