Whenever I find myself with a little downtime,I go to the old toy room and reflect.I reflect on alot of things. Why do I have so many toys? Why Is It so damn hot outside? Why do I complain about the heat when In the winter time all I did was pray for summer to get here?Today I got to thinking about a Jason Vorhees / Snake Eyes matchup.Or,not even a match up but just a comparison. Both have a lot in common.Jason wears a mask to cover his hideous appearance. So does Snake Eyes. They're both silent and can sneak up on you when and where you least expect it.Both carry a sword .Well Jason carries a machete .Same shit.1982 marked the first time Jason donned his trademark hockey mask In Friday The 13th part 3.So you make the call.Did the creators of G.I. Joe have Jason Vorhees In mind when they created Snake Eyes? This Is the original Sunbow cartoon version of Snake Eyes.More militarized ,before the ninja motif took off.But damn It If that head design doesn't resemble a hockey ...

There was a time when I could easily fill three of these shelves with modern Joe figs.Sadly, this Is what my collection looks like today.Alot of the figures I used to have got sold or traded off In order for me to amass my Marvel Universe collection. Now that I am somewhat content with my Marvel Universe collection ,I'm going back to collecting modern Joes. The Rise of Cobra line Is still high on my wants list.Yes,the movie was crappy ,but there Is something that has to be said about It being the first live action G.I. Joe film. That ,in my eyes, makes not only the film and figures significant, but all the misc. merch that was also subsequently released. As you can see,the first two rows are figures from the Rise of Cobra line .There are still some figures from that line that I'd like to add at some point like Scarlett,Breaker and Destro just to name a few. In the back there's a mix of 25th Ann.,Pursuit of Cobra and Retaliation movie figures.New additions coming soon!...
The Anatomy Of A Toy Room

What makes a great toy room? For me,a toy room has to be more than just toys on a shelf. In order for a toy room to come to life ,you have to treat It like an ecosystem. One collectible directly affects the other ,setting off a nostalgic domino effect enabling us to relive those different phases of our childhood we so deeply enamored .I call It a re-brainwashing .Whatever program we ran on as kids has re-downloaded Itself. Our brains have been taken hostage once again ,resulting In some pretty bad ass action figure blogs, pop culture podcasts and toy rooms among other stagnant and weird behavior! Here's my take on the evolution of it all. With me,It all began with comics. So naturally,my toy room had to have an area displaying some of my favorite childhood titles. While the 80's had It's fair share of box office hits and sentimental favorites,no film made an impact on our young minds like E.T.Thanks to Brother Midnight, this poster hangs...

The only issue of Mephisto I had as a kid was #3.I probably wouldn't have picked up the other issues In this limited series but since they sold as a lot ,I pulled the trigger on them.Issue #3 will be the only one to go on display. The others will go In a comic box.Yup ,you heard right.I am officially In the market for a comic box.Which means ,you guessed It,more comics on the way! As far as Mephisto goes, all I can remember about him was that he was pretty bad ass!Remember I was 10 when I first read issue number 3 so everything's pretty much a blur ,right now.But that's what's so great about re-collecting childhood comics.Re-reading them and being overcome by that "ohhhhh,I remember that, now!" feeling! So looking forward to it!
