What's with the G.I. Joe franchise and why Isn't Hasbro doing something about  It?It's crazy because with all the advancements In our military ,amazing technology and possible real world tie- ins ,you would think they'd have enough fodder to be able to spit out G.I. Joe films on a yearly basis.Heck, I'd even settle for a Netflix series ala Agents of Shield.Give us something,Hasbro.Something!




Anybody else think Marvel films have become a little too comedy heavy?Yeah,the writing Is great.So are most of the jokes.But,not every character In the Marvel Universe has a sense of humor .While I'm not the biggest fan of FOX's line of X-Men films,I can appreciate the seriousness about them.




Speaking of Marvel and Hasbro,where are the 3 3/4 figures?It seems like It will only be Marvel Legends 6 inch figures and larger from here on out.That sucks,too,because I really wanted a 3 3/4 Beyonder figure for my collection.

    I don't mind the bits of comedy here and there in the new Marvel films, but I can understand where you're coming from. Luke's comedic bits in The Last Jedi were a bit too much for my liking.

    It's all right when you don't see It coming.But It's gotten to the point where you can expect a pun or joke every two or three lines.A laugh here and there doesn't hurt but too much Is too much.If I'm not mistaken,I think Netflix has Thor Ragnarok listed as a comedy.

    I'm not really into the MCU films, I just can't get past the CGI, that's the part that's too much for me. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more 3 3/4 figures though, and I want them for all kinds of properties, not just Marvel!

    It's interesting that you mention the military for G.I. Joe films or series because this is what actually killed Retaliation for me. It was too military. Take away all the names, and you just have a generic army film. It didn't feel like G.I. Joe at all.

      Well,GI Joe is military .Take that away and your left with...well...ordinary Joes.I look at it from the opposite side.Yes,take away the big names ,especially Channing Tatum ,and have a bunch of young solid up and comers play the roles of our favorite Joes instead.Generic military films suck,i agree.But great ones do exist and can be made.

    I actually dig the cgi although sometimes its downright blinding lol.Maybe im just getting old.Watching Black Panther was like being on an amusement park ride.Dizzying but a good film overall.Not alot of humor in that one.And YES!More 3 3/4 articulated figures please!

The other day ,my better half and I had the chance to traverse our local mall early In the day.I hate going to malls at peak hours or on the weekends.The crowds are just too damn cool for me.Long story short,our mall now has a toy store! I couldn't believe my eyes.From a far It looked like It was going to be some artsy fartsy place with educational toys ,wooden blocks and model kits,but no!This place had pretty much everything collectors go for nowadays.The name of the store Is "Go!,Toys and Games" and I can honestly say that I've never heard of It before.Everything was a dollar or two extra ,but that's not too bad considering how ridiculously expensive modern toys are In hobby and toy shops these days.I really hope this place sticks around. There Is a nice mix of everything.Marvel Legends,Star Wars  to blind bags to Funko figs.On top of that there are tons of board games   and books. WTF? Yes! 3 3/4 Marvel Legends!!!!!Not alot thou

A GI Joe Post That's Not Classified

As much as I love the Classified line of Joe figures, I feel like there's other Joe stuff out there that deserve a little bit of that spotlight.   Pictured are two custom cardback figure protectors and four Diamond Select 💎  GI Joe figures.   I'd been looking for a way to protect my stashed 3.75  o-ring Joe's when I came across these online. I picked up William Perry's and Snake Eyes protectors and will be adding more as they are made available.   These are unpunched, clean and professional looking cardbacks that feature vintage artwork  on the front and file card on the back.  Diamond Select just doesn't get the props they deserve in my opinion. As much as I dig  their Marvel Minimates line, these Joe Minimates are equally cool! I'm not even sure I want to open these guys up. I mean I want to, but would hate to.

Pop Culture League Assignment - Shelfie

I remember The League of Extraordinary Bloggers back In the day, never partook In any of the festivities, though. This time around, especially with state of  the blogosphere , I feel I need to participate a little more to see If we can breathe life back into toy blogging! So , a big thank you to Brian over at Cool and Collected  for  bringing the League back. Here's my  introductory league assignment post. Very simple ,snap a pic of two of your very favorite shelves. I chose the two shelves hat display all of my vintage . It only recently wrapped around to the bottom shelf with the addition of  a couple of Swamp Thing figures I received from Brother Midnight In a recent trade. I'm hoping to fill out the bottom shelf over the coarse of the winter.
