DC Super Powers - Darkseid

My first DC Super Powers figure comes by way of trade with Orniphus of  Coolandunusual,and I absolutely love It!I've been wanting to add some DC Super Powers figures to the collection for some time now.Mainly Firestorm,Braniac and Kalibak ,all figures I had as a kid.Who would have thought that Darkseid would be  the first to hang out among my small display of vintage figures.If you've followed some of my older blogs,you know that I'm not about overcrowding any one brand of  vintage figure ,and that's mainly because of how expensive that can be.Also,I feel that all  I really need are a few figures from each brand   to represent the line  when on display.I like to think of my vintage toy display as a compact,well rounded collection that offers a little bit of everything. And while I'm still behind In the game,with other classic  toy lines on my need list,this Darkseid might be the boost I needed to go out and snag up a couple more of these awesome Super Powers figures!






I don't like where I have him on display right now,Darkseid needs to be seen!Maybe I'll do some rearranging over the weekend.Heck,maybe I'll hit you guys with another "My Favorite 5 Right Now" post ;)

    I loved this figure as a kid. I so wish the SP line would have continued. Heck it could today.

      DC Super Powers and Mattels Marvel Secret Wars could continue today and still sell,IMO.

    I really liked this fella, a day or two after sending him I had to pop out and go to the comic shop where I knew there was another one waiting for me. I'm contemplating starting on this line and Secret Wars, have a couple, so far been able to pick up a few super cheap, we'll see how dedicated I am when the pricey stuff is left.

      Your probably better off buying the pedestrian Secret Wars figures (Spiderman,Captain America and Iron Man ) in a lot. I've seen them bunched together selling for about 25 bucks.Whereas buying them single will cost you anywhere between 15 and 25 bucks.You might actually need super powers (the power to will ebay sellers to lower their prices) to pick up any of the Super Powers line.They're freaking expensive :(

The other day ,my better half and I had the chance to traverse our local mall early In the day.I hate going to malls at peak hours or on the weekends.The crowds are just too damn cool for me.Long story short,our mall now has a toy store! I couldn't believe my eyes.From a far It looked like It was going to be some artsy fartsy place with educational toys ,wooden blocks and model kits,but no!This place had pretty much everything collectors go for nowadays.The name of the store Is "Go!,Toys and Games" and I can honestly say that I've never heard of It before.Everything was a dollar or two extra ,but that's not too bad considering how ridiculously expensive modern toys are In hobby and toy shops these days.I really hope this place sticks around. There Is a nice mix of everything.Marvel Legends,Star Wars  to blind bags to Funko figs.On top of that there are tons of board games   and books. WTF? Yes! 3 3/4 Marvel Legends!!!!!Not alot thou

Recent Pick Up!

My last "Merry Christmas To Me" post was going to be of Marvel Legends Spider-Man animated cartoon series figure that I thought I was getting a great deal on. It turns out the figure was a bootleg. $30 down the drain and a fake Spider Man figure in the trash. I didn't even bother trying to get a refund from the seller. I'll chalk it up to a loss and keep it moving. So today I figured I'd  treat myself to something dope in the toy aisles at my local Walmart and found this!  I'm not sure if this is a reissue or what but It was the last one on the pegs and so I grabbed it. Now I can't get that damned theme song out of my head.
