2 MINUTE TOY BREAK !

I can't make heads or tails of OLMEC Toys decision to make Sun-Man's archenemy a pig. TMNT predates OLMECS Rulers of the Sun line so maybe, possibly Pig- Head is just a derivative of Bebop. We'll never know. What I do know is that Pig-Head is a pretty damn cool action figure. These Rulers of the Sun figures take me back to the early 80s, when knockoffs and bootlegs were prevalent. I like that they went with a mace as the primary weapon. Weapons of precision ( I. e. crossbow or sword)  woudn't have made much sense for a bruiser like Pig-Head.  I really like Pig-Head and for the price I think he's totally worth adding to your collection. I didn't know what to make of this line at first. I had seen the Sun-Man Man figure showcased on various action figure blogs and channels but didn't pay much attention. Why the sudden interest you ask? He was selling for a very low price on eBay along with his archenemy Pig Head, so I nabbed them up! Let's take a look at the lines protagonist, Sun-Man!  The story behind Sun-Man and the Rulers of the Sun dates back to 1985, when Yla Eason ( best mom ever), founder of OLMEC toys, created a line of action figures her son could identify with. The line consists of predominantly black characters and was deliberately created in the same vein as He-man MOTU figures.The backstory is interesting and one worth looking up. As far as the figure goes, it's a nearly identical remake of the original with updated articulation.  Sonetimes...

CT Toys is heavy on my radar right now. I was pleasantly surprised with Wolverine but this Spider-Man figure has made me a full fledged believer. Included are 5 sets of alternate hands, 1 with magnets (6 in all if you count the ones he comes equipped with), 1 extra set of articulated feet with magnets, 4 web streams and an alternate McFarlane style head sculpt. Oh, and a display stand.  I've said in the past how sucky I am at posing action figures. That said, MAFEX/CT figs are great for posing, even if you're not very good at it. It's "kid gloves" with these guys, though, as they are a little gummier than Legends figures.  CT Toys Wolvie and Spidey!  Here's CT Toys Spidey next to a couple of Marvel Legends Spider-Man figures.
