2 MINUTE TOY BREAK !

I'd like to take a little break from MOTU for a second to go over a line of action figures that have recently caught my eye. The truth is it's pretty hard NOT to see these as they are ubiquitous in department store toy aisles and shelves. It's only now that they've peaked my interest. Let's take a look at Hasbro's Marvel ActionVerse! I'll start off with Hasbro ActionVerse movie Spidey. I've come to terms with the fact that Hasbro will never again give us an accurately painted, webbing on costume, budget-friendly Spider-Man action figure. That's all good and gravy. I knew what I was getting into when I tossed this guy into my shopping cart.  The figure alone is a bit bland. The red and blue is a bit muted. It's the little extras that come with these ActionVerse figures that keep things interesting.  With every ActionVerse figure comes a T.M.N.T. like accessory tree. Every accessory has a ...

 #5 As much as I liked my CT Toys Wolverine figure, CT Toys Spidey edged him out for the number 5 spot. It's nice to have a Spider-Man figure that you can actually put into Spider-Man poses.  Fave Factor: Remember, what I consider to be a top 10 figure goes beyond aesthetics. It has to be a fun figure, overall. Fun to pose, fun to photograph and of course fun to look at. This CT Toys Spider-Man figure checks all the boxes. 

CT Toys is heavy on my radar right now. I was pleasantly surprised with Wolverine but this Spider-Man figure has made me a full fledged believer. Included are 5 sets of alternate hands, 1 with magnets (6 in all if you count the ones he comes equipped with), 1 extra set of articulated feet with magnets, 4 web streams and an alternate McFarlane style head sculpt. Oh, and a display stand.  I've said in the past how sucky I am at posing action figures. That said, MAFEX/CT figs are great for posing, even if you're not very good at it. It's "kid gloves" with these guys, though, as they are a little gummier than Legends figures.  CT Toys Wolvie and Spidey!  Here's CT Toys Spidey next to a couple of Marvel Legends Spider-Man figures. It's been fun opening and playing with these Epic Heroes Marvel 4 inch figures. They remind me of DC Spinmasters figures of the same scale. I feel like these will be around for a while but much like Jigsaw said in one of his comments, the cast of characters may be a limited one. I'll continue to pick these up as I find them, If I like the characters, and see where it goes.
