G.I. Joe The Rise Of Cobra

Image
I never expected the first live action G.I. Joe film to be a masterpiece. I don't think any of us did. Heck, I didn't even expect it to be good. Turns out the movie fell somewhere between bad and good for me. GI Joe The Rise of Cobra just....exists. That's not necessarily a bad thing. The movie spawned a nice assortment of action figures and a video game. It was also cool to see Joe coloring books, comics and cake toppers up and down department store toy aisles. Was it short lived? Yes. Did G.I. Joe become mainstream popular again? No. But It was a nice little ride, while it lasted.

Snake Eyes Jet Storm Rip-Attack Cycle (Revisited)

Image
Looking through some things In my basement the other day,I happen to come across a bunch of  G.I Joe ROC boxes that I still have laying around. It's nice to revisit them after all these years just to relive the moment . I remember finding a couple  of these Snake Eyes Rip - Attack  cycles on clearance at my local TRU ,about  12 years ago, for about 5 bucks and some change. At first I thought this was just a Nerf like toy pistol or something because of the visible  trigger mechanism . It's not until you turn the box around that you get to see exactly what It Is your getting here. I picked It up more for the  Snake Eyes figure which  btw looks nothing like the one included. The rip cord goes .... ...here . One quick yank of the cord sets the back wheel  In motion and pressing the trigger releases the Jet Storm cycle. It actually works pretty well. But If you're anything like me ,the trigger mechanism got to...

The funny thing about blogging Is that It entails photography and writing. Two things at which I'm not particularly good at.But sometimes,I unintentionally  snap a good pic or two. My writing, however,Is always bad :)

G.I. Joe The Rise Of Cobra

Image
Just taking a few moments out of the day to pay tribute to a crappy live action film that spawned some really cool action figures. If you weren't collecting at the time,G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra film was supposed to release a lot earlier than It did. That led to figures making their way to store pegs prematurely and subsequently heading straight to clearance sections.ROSS,TJ Maxx and Marshall's had tons of  them stocked and on clearance for about 3 bucks a piece, some even cheaper.I sagged up a bunch and still have a few, mostly the main cast , left In my collection.

G.I. Joe ROC - Snake Eyes

Image
I remember seeing tons of this version of Snake Eyes on the pegs and on clearance.I never paid It any mind.I thought the head sculpt was a little wonky ,especially with the odd inclusion of a nose and mouth. And then something happened. They began disappearing from clearance aisles ,and ultimately from stores altogether.Of course, now I wanted one because that's just how It is isn't It ? Even still, lots of them began to show up on eBay, but so reasonably priced that yet again ,I  passed.I thought, hey I can always pick one up at that price sometime down the road.Well, recently they've shot up In price a bit so naturally ,It was time to make my move before they became simply unattainable. If you ever feel the need to open up a quality action figure ,you can do a lot worst than a G.I. Joe ROC movie figure. When was the last time you opened up an action figure that included this much stuff!?! Newbie collectors probably don't know what this Is ,but what yo...
