The Perfect Action Figure?

Image
I don't consider myself to be a super collector.I don't purchase waves of figures at a time.Heck,I only average about one carded action figure a month. But that's not because I don't like them,In fact I love carded figures.Nothing compares to the sound of a  crackling clam shell ripping apart form the card back.Nothing comes close to the smell of plastic chemicals emitting from your action figure once In hand and nothing Is cooler than a brand new ,tightly jointed G.I. Joe fresh out of the packaging! The lack of Joe product out there has a lot to do with my lack of enthusiasm for anything that's out on the shelves right now.It ain't so,If It ain't Joe.I just made that up and I'm not entirely sure If It makes any sense but It sounded cool and rolled off the tongue nicely. But ,yeah, every now and again I'll get this urge to crack open a G.I. Joe figure.I don't get that urge with other figures.Only G.I. Joe.The great articulation, web gear, accessories ...

Gittin' Ma Footwork On!

It's been a little over 2 weeks now and I'm still doing the workout thing.Nothing huge ,just biking every day along with some other cardio exercises thrown In for good measure.I'm also eating a lot less.Portions, small portions. The wifey put me on to this cool app called Lose It and I have to say that It's alot of fun.You get to scan the foods your eating to instantly find out your carb and calorie intake.Basically you get to document everything you eat and do from day to day.It gives you a daily allotment of calories  based on your height and size. You'll earn badges and get congratulated weekly for  keeping In step with the program. Not only that but you'll quickly start seeing a difference ,too.I know,I sound like one of those cheesy infomercials. But I shit you not, this really works.I realize this ain't for everybody, but If you are planning on doing the workout thing ,try the Lose It app ,you won't be disappointed!

At A Point In my Life ...

Image
I'm at a point In my life where things like mental as well as physical health are  paramount and hobbies have taken a back seat. This Isn't to say that I'm done collecting or that I'm going to become a health nut and start running marathons.Although, that probably wouldn't be such a bad idea. Anywhoo ,toy collecting and gaming aren't the most physically demanding hobbies and that  can quickly become a detriment to our health. So while I'm not hitting the gyms or anything ,I am exercising more and trying to eat healthier. It's not easy but I'm already a week into It and can already feel the difference. It's also great on the mental. I've even considered selling off some of my collection.I'm super close to throwing my entire Marvel Universe collection on ebay. They have been stashed for months now and have barely seen the light of day.I don't know,I might, not sure. But that got me thinking. If  I  ever decided to sell off my entire collection,...

Green Arrow!

Image
Every superhero universe needs an archer,I guess.Even Gi joe has Scarlett ,who somewhat qualifies with her cross bow.DC's archer Is none other than Green Arrow.A fitting name.I think that's what bugged me about DC growing up.The lack of original aliases.Like ,no thought was put into them.If a character wore a red costume then he would be red "so and so". The "Green" Lantern. The "Blue" Beetle. This guy will be an ocean themed hero so we'll call him  "Aqua" Man!See where I'm going with this?I'm pretty sure The Flash was one raised arm away from being called  Fast Man.I know, this Is a post about a DC action figure and here I am bashing the brand. To be fair,Marvel has done the same on certain occasions but not nearly as often. But enough banter and on with the figure. I've put off collecting DC Infinite Heroes recently so It's nice to add another one.DC has little to no representation In my collection so I'm glad that I...

Captain Atom!

Image
A while back I did a post about a Captain Atom figure I had acquired , but I'm not exactly sure what line It was from, right now.Anyways,I didn't like the figure that much but loved the character and hoped to one day add   an Infinite Heroes to my collection. That endeavor has finally come to fruition! Captain Atom Is one of my favorite DC characters next to Batman and Superman.I got hooked on his 1987 run of books, starting with the 1st edition annual. That issue featured a drag out brawl between Captain Atom and another character with similar powers created by the government,Major Force. I hope to one day recoup those issues as I'd like to familiarize myself better with both characters.
