MARVEL ActionVerse - Spider-Man ( Brand New Day)

I'd like to take a little break from MOTU for a second to go over a line of action figures that have recently caught my eye. The truth is it's pretty hard NOT to see these as they are ubiquitous in department store toy aisles and shelves. It's only now that they've peaked my interest. Let's take a look at Hasbro's Marvel ActionVerse!


I'll start off with Hasbro ActionVerse movie Spidey.


I've come to terms with the fact that Hasbro will never again give us an accurately painted, webbing on costume, budget-friendly Spider-Man action figure. That's all good and gravy. I knew what I was getting into when I tossed this guy into my shopping cart. 

The figure alone is a bit bland. The red and blue is a bit muted. It's the little extras that come with these ActionVerse figures that keep things interesting. 


With every ActionVerse figure comes a T.M.N.T. like accessory tree. Every accessory has a peg that fits onto your figures arms, legs and back. I like em' all. The web chain, tracking device and web thwip are cool but my two favs are the web shield and nap sack.

    I don't mind the look of the figure, but the way some of these accessories attach to the figure look a little cheesy. Have to say you did an amazing job with that final photo. Great angle and use of backdrop.

CT Toys is heavy on my radar right now. I was pleasantly surprised with Wolverine but this Spider-Man figure has made me a full fledged believer. Included are 5 sets of alternate hands, 1 with magnets (6 in all if you count the ones he comes equipped with), 1 extra set of articulated feet with magnets, 4 web streams and an alternate McFarlane style head sculpt. Oh, and a display stand.  I've said in the past how sucky I am at posing action figures. That said, MAFEX/CT figs are great for posing, even if you're not very good at it. Go! Games and Toys

The other day ,my better half and I had the chance to traverse our local mall early In the day.I hate going to malls at peak hours or on the weekends.The crowds are just too damn cool for me.Long story short,our mall now has a toy store! I couldn't believe my eyes.From a far It looked like It was going to be some artsy fartsy place with educational toys ,wooden blocks and model kits,but no!This place had pretty much everything collectors go for nowadays.The name of the store Is "Go!,Toys and Games" and I can honestly say that I've never heard of It before.Everything was a dollar or two extra ,but that's not too bad considering how ridiculously expensive modern toys are In hobby and toy shops these days.I really hope this place sticks around. There Is a nice mix of everything.Marvel Legends,Star Wars  to blind bags to Funko figs.On top of that there are tons of board games   and books. WTF? Yes! 3 3/4 Marvel Legends!!!!!Not alot thou...
