Totally forgot about this guy. I usually think of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow when I talk about favorite characters... but Quick Kick was also one of my faves back in the day as well.
He was a bit of a clown but I think that's why I liked him so much.Plus,he was the only Joe bad ass enough to run through the arctic without a shirt on and bare foot. That's some Bear Gryllis type shit right there.
Funny thing I have no real connection to the cartoon as I didn't really watch it.I was a teenager when it started and I only paid the passing attention to it. I do have a great memory of the animated movie though it was more what was going on in the room time lol
That movie was so great!I thought they would pick right up from there and continue to run new cartoon episodes with some of the newer Joes and Cobra villain action figures being released at the time.Sadly, such was not the case.We never got to see Crystal Ball,Raptor,Repeater or Spearhead and Max In any Joe animation :(
Growing up we had lots of cool superhero toys to collect. There was never a shortage of Batman, Superman or Spiderman figures in the toy aisles. Mainstream characters got all the love. Dudes like Daredevil, not so much. That all changed in the mid to late 80's (Mattel Secret Wars) and in 1990 Toy Biz would start releasing their seemingly neverending line of Marvel Superheroes that gave us action figures of everybody from Daredevil to Deathlok.
I usually don't do bootleg action figures, especially after my bad Spiderman Legends experience. That guy ultimately ended up in the trash. I took the chance on this CT Toys Wolverine figure on the strength of YouTube and positive eBay reviews. Glad I did! CT Toys ( MAFEX) hits different. The character specific colored box art and design are displayed prominently on all sides of the packaging and has the look and feel of an oversized NES video game. If that makes any sense. The overall presentation screams 80's Marc Silvestri. You get a lot here. Three sets of hands ( including attached set) , two head sculpts, hanging removed cowl and a display stand. It's pretty insane. Also,You won't have to worry about bruised fingertips or adversely bending your action figure when extracting.Wolverine and contents can be removed and replaced easily due to the loose fitting plastic figure and accessory...
